Knicks · Anyone catch the shot of Mitch in a walking boot at his kids camp? (page 1)

Yeah man. I remember. Every game vs. Atlanta I was hoping for a Mitchell Robinson comeback.
But it never happened.
And that was the most frustrating part for me vs. Atlanta was not having Mitchell Robinson. It bothered me throughout all 5 games.
I honestly don't care if he misses the 1st month or two of the 2021 season; because I just want him 100% and @ full strength once he returns.
Not that Sims is some special talent, but he does many of the things Mitch does, and as underdeveloped his offensive game is, I still see it to be as good, or better, than Robinson's, who has added little or no polish to his offensive game since we got him.
I can't see the Knicks liking Mitch's brittleness either. There is a bit of a Knicks' fan base cult of Mitch out there, but he really needs to show some improvement this year, or I wonder how much longer the team will want to pay him.

At this point, Simms is nowhere near. He’s athletic and that’s it. He is very far from being able to use this athleticism in the way to be useful on the NBA court.

He’s gonna be better than people think. Remember 4 years at Texas playing with and against lottery nba talent. Watch some of his films. His upside is Richaun Holmes in a few years. But no reason why he can’t give nba minutes this minute

I’m not saying he can’t get NBA minutes next season but that he’s nowhere near “replacing” Mitch what was written in this one to which I was responding.

And I don't even think Jericho Sims @ 6'9-6'10 (looks more like 6'8) is even projected as an NBA Center.
I honestly think he was only drafted in order to be utilized as future trade bait (in order to keep Obi Toppin long-term).
Mitchell Robinson is only 23 years old.
Jericho Sims believe it or not is 22 years old.
Sims is way behind Mitchell Robinson in both potential and overall ability/talent.

Other than effort and athleticism, which Mitch had from day one...what kind of progress has Mitch made so far?
His FT shooting has actually gone down each year...and I've seen no changes as to what he can do on the court. What does he do in the offseason?

What are you talking about?
His 2019-2020 FG% of .7419% ranks #1 All-Time and broke Wilt Chamberlain's All-Time record for FG% of .7270%.
Am I saying he's Wilt? Of course not. But he's one of the greatest high flying finishers at the rim that I've ever witnessed and he's still only 23 years old.
He's also never played alongside of a PG with A+ passing ability and court vision in order to truly unleash his Offensive potential down low within the paint.
But that's besides the point because this kid isn't here for Offense he's here as Tom Thibs Defensive ANCHOR to the NBA's #1 Defense as both a shot blocker and a rim protector (as well as an awesome rebounder). His has freakishly freakish Defensive Athleticism in which can not be taught.
And what does he do on Offense? Hm. Well let's see....
He ranked 10th in 2019-2020 amongst all NBA players with 186 OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS. HELLO!
He also ranked 5th last year of 2020-2021 in OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS PER GAME.
Did you not see what happened to our Knicks on both the boards and DEFENSE without Mitchell Robinson vs. Atlanta while getting destroyed 4-1?!? 😂🤣
Oh how quickly fans such as yourself forget....
"He's athletic and that's it" omg fans line you bother the fk out of me.

Plays Fortnite apparently and rehabs injuries

Get out of here. He played 66 games as a rookie and 61 games as a 2nd year Player.
Big deal. He got hurt last year and still recovering from an injury as a 3rd year player.
Injuries happen especially to young kids just ask Michael Jordan who was voted into the All-Star during his 2nd NBA season despite only 7 starts and 18 games played throughout 1985-1986.
It's bush league to "mock" Mitchell Robinson over injury without acknowledging the facts of #1 All-Time FG% as an absolute monster of a rim runner, a dominant defensive player with freakish athleticism as Tom Thibs Defensive ANCHOR, an awesome offensive rebounder who ranked 10th in Offensive rebounds (2019-2020) and ranked top 5 in Offensive Rebounds per game last year of 2020-2021 (before getting injured) and last but not least an exciting Defensive rim protector and shot blocker.
Yeah. Right. Mock away. All because of a 3rd year injury @ only 23 years old.
Disgusting and bush league.

Sounds like you're pushing to be his next agent. We just picked up his option. I suppose we'll see the value the Knicks think he has after next season.
Again...the stuff he does now he could do his first year on the team. A high shooting % like his simply means that he doesn't try/can't create his own shots. He is a great offensive rebounder, but I would hazard a guess and say many of his missed FG attempts were attempted put backs after an offensive rebound, because, other than dunks, his touch around the basket is pretty lame. Look at the 46 second mark of the video...He picks up an offensive rebound, shows no touch on a 1 or 2 ft. bank shot, then rebounds his own shot and dunks.
And I'll ask once again...What changes has he made in his game the past 3 years? Does he have an offensive move that doesn't require a PG? I've cringed watching him attempt to make a shot in the paint where he can't dunk the ball.
You look at our young players. RJ made significant improvements to his game in a single year, while Knox and Frank have not shown much improvement, if any. Next year we will see what IQ and Obi do to upgrade their respective games. In 3 years, Mitch hasn't made significant changes to his game from what I've seen.
I like Robinson...he's an exciting player and does many good things on the court. He was a steal where we got him in the draft, but he needs to take that next step as a player, and I wonder if he can.

Do you remember when we had Fizdale there was a funny story about how Fortnite is taking too much time away from Robinson, by his own admission( Mitchell's)? I do, so that's part one. And yes, I am implying that his priorities were not set right back then during his first off-season. Result? Same player as during the rookie season. Zero added to his game.
Now it's his second off-season. He is rehabbing an injury.
That's 0-2. Those are facts, not opinions. Yes, I agree that those are some disgusting facts. I guess injuries are out of Mitchell's control. Maybe it's just random or maybe he is made of glass, it's too early to tell.
What exactly is bush league over here? I think you are being unfair.
