200%. Talent outweighs a plan. What plan did Milwaukee have when they picked giannis? No doubt about it. In the end we could’ve had grimes Johnson and McBride. I think trading pick 19 for a future to a perennial shtty team was wrong. That was an opportunity to take a calculated risk on an Uber athlete who has very decent fundamentals.
Milwaukee was rebuilding at the time，the Knicks are trying to build a winner. Thibs has his system and it's all about guys having their roles.
I can't remember the game but Obi hit a 3 from the wing from the same spot Randle normally does and the bench got way，way too excited about it. My interpretation? Regardless of who is playing the guys have roles and if you don't have the toolkit (PFs need to be able to hit open 3's from the wing for example) you don't play. Knicks aren't looking for talent，they are looking for system guys.

I think passing on Jalen Johnson was a huge mistake. Seeing him land in Atlanta made it a little more painful

Yep. Also, a lot of teams passed on Johnson. I wouldn't have been upset if they took him, but I'm not losing sleep over this. Remember how great Anthony Randolph looked in Summer league? Briggs was as insatiable as Jeff Esptein at a sweet 16 party. Couldn't go a day without a new thread. Randolph did end up having a great career in Europe, but nobody is upset that the Knicks gave up on him. You have to put SL in perspective. RJ wasn't as bad as looked and Kevin Knox is nowhere near as dynamic as he looked.
