wow, there ya go. While he is on the downswing, a buyout contract is a good flier.
VDesai @ 8/4/2021 10:11 AM
also its Kemba :)
knicks1248 @ 8/4/2021 10:11 AM
Dude blew us off and went to Boston, now he's out of options and wants to come home
FrenchFreak @ 8/4/2021 10:13 AM
Love it! I'm guessing we'll pay him next to nothing post-buyout?

Yes, he and Rose are injury prone. But they both can still play when healthy. I'd take 30 games of Kemba over 5 seasons of Elfrid.

Let's go!

It's cool, I was just saying how Karma works, he actually did the knicks some a favor by taken Bostons money, now we're getting him for almost Nothing.

FrenchFreak @ 8/4/2021 10:17 AM
The more I've researched it the more I think Fournier is a pretty big offensive upgrade over Bullock. EF is way more than a catch and shoot guy. That said Kemba to me is an even bigger upgrade over Elfrid.

True word.

All seriousness, even though he was never my first option, this is a really nice move. A Walker/Rose combo may be a little brittle, but it is nice if they can stay healthy.

And it may sound like I am gushing, because I am. I have never been able to experience having a Front Office that works like this. it is fucking refreshing, man. They seem to constantly be saying "You may not understand now, but you'll be happy in a minute. Now hold my damn beer."

VDesai @ 8/4/2021 10:21 AM
So he signs for either the 8mm remaining space or the room exception? I imagine its a 1 yr deal or maybe he even takes a similar 2 yr deal with 3rd year team option structure.

This is good - Knicks are gonna ride this 2 yr window with the vets they have. Gotta establish a consistent winner here. Kemba gives the Knicks a 5th player who can get shots, and certainly a guy who can get off a shot with the game on the line.

Allanfan20 @ 8/4/2021 10:26 AM
If he’s healthy, he can make a very good starting lineup for us.

If not, we will have to have to live with Quick and Rose as PG.

The New York Knicks are planning to offer Kemba Walker a contract worth roughly $8 million in average annual value, according to league sources.

Kemba is one of a growing number of ex-Celts who have not been happy with the way they were treated. I'm not saying this sentiment is reasonable just that it exists

Would be great if he had a little chip on his shoulder for those Celtics games.

moreover, EF not only benefits us, but his coming here further hurts division rival Celts. (One can google how Danny Ainge botched the whole Kemba thing, and the subsequent misuse of the trade exceptions renting EF)

Seems like a smart move if it's low money and short term. His knees have been a problem

$8M per for 2 years and he only has to play like 24 minutes with Rose as back up. Perfect situation for both Kemba and Rose and their playing styles match each other.

Really is a solid pick up if he can stay healthy.

I'm happy we finally get 2PGs the opposing team has to actually guard
