who bet money on this Knick Squad to win summer league? I would have thought - good bet, but some bad play- IQ is looking like maybe he's earned something.
I am loving what I am seeing from Obi.

I’m liking Quickly more as a combo guard playing next to a primary ball handler
Yep. Whoever thinks he will develop into a starting PG is fooling himself. His shot might be flat right now, but he is out backup SG coming together with Rose.
Wonder if they let McBride do more ball handling next time & have IQ play off the ball.
Obi looked good. That is a relief - I think we can count on him to contribute for us - still wondering if the coaches will put him in positions that he can exploit.
I hate it when we put expectations of winning on Summer League, because it’s beyond that.
We look like the ideal NBA team we fans think about:
Strong starting lineup with stars and potential
Solid explosive bench with established roles
Youngsters talented enough to step in for an injured player while developing behind a solid starter.
All the big players are very talented. Sims is a possible steal. Deuce is a very intriguing prospect who already seems like a talented backup PG. Grimes was solid as well.
What did you guys think?

Used the backboard a few times and did some moves in the post.
I've been critical, but he looked more composed today.

I thought he played well but could’ve played even better. He’s going to have to maintain cardio load assertiveness on the court but overall we have a great 58 pick who will easily make the team. He prob made the team today. He was the worker setting the high picks and did a good job. Will need a couple years experience but he’s got good pr skills

I wonder about this as well, but if Kemba and Rose will have a little free reign, he will benefit a lot. We already saw how Obi played better after Rose was acquired.

That’s what’s most exciting: this is him playing still not in NBA shape and still without training camp. If the guy buys into the program the way the other big men have, he will definitely be the steal of the draft. The guy is so intriguing because his talent seems natural, with lots of room to refine and become a weapon off the bench. Great pick!
IQ was bad today. He shot us out the game.
Toppin looked like the best player on the court besides Flynn and Barnes.
Simms looked like he will have a career.
Grimes shot 37 percent from 3
McBride did sone good things.
Toppin = better than college ball… better than G league… average Nba PF with potential to be a all star if given opportunity.
Vildoza looked uncomfortable and overmatched in his first game.

Yes he did. Looks like he was trying not to step on anyone's toes
I was working. How did Grimes look?

should we cut him?

He looked like he has 3&D ability but didn’t do much with the ball.

McBride and Quickley together makes sense. McBride can defend both positions and play on and off the ball. I’m a huge fan.

I was hoping more from Grimes. I want to see some more intensity, drives, some Mamba Mentality

I would be surprised if Toppin ever becomes an allstar. He doesn't feel super skilled, more athlete and hops. I would like to see some post moves footwork, knock down jumper, etc.
I did like his ball handling skills

he may get cut. Knicks will have him on a short leash I feel

Kid has a ton of potential. Already has a back to the basket game. Showed a floater as well. Hope we prioritize his development of the next couple of years because with his athleticism, he has the potential to be a steal...
Agree. My fave pick. His head is at / above the rim on every play. sick really
