Kid has a ton of potential. Already has a back to the basket game. Showed a floater as well. Hope we prioritize his development of the next couple of years because with his athleticism, he has the potential to be a steal...

Agree. My fave pick. His head is at / above the rim on every play. sick really

Or our Front Office does a great job finding these guys. Hope Sims can play incredible defense. Would make Mitch expendable

Knixkik wrote:Sims looking like a steal. We benefit from the devaluation of the center and the senior. His physical ability is that of a first rounder. McBride too. He’s a legit 2-way PG prospect. Grimes was quiet but that’s fine. Vildoza looks fine for a 20 year old, but not for a 25 year old. He might not earn a roster spot if they are committed to Quickley and McBride as lead guard prospects.

totally true for Sims.

McBride, too early to tell.

Grimes, I need to see him take the ball to the basket and stop settling for 3s. Draw fouls. Play with more fire.

Vildoza - I agree, not sure why they were in such a rush to sign him, but his pact is NON-guaranteed.

Luka vildoza just came back from tokoyo olympics and flew on thursday from japan to las vegas he is tired.

jetlagged. however he has gone on record saying that he does not know if he will make the team, and that he can not figure out the plays. not looking great so far.

the block, the sky hook and the floater were all amazing. the dunks and post play were fantastic. EASILY our best rook.

a few awesome highlights here - the laser pass to Obi, the finishing at the rack with contact, and the nice midrange jumper. the toughness is palpable, and easy to see why he will be a thibs and fan fave.

a negative, the overdribbling, pounding the ball into the floor.

Sims is awesome. Good awareness and more moves in these highlights than Mitch has shown in several years with the Knicks! This guy looks like a steal!

I liked what I saw from McBride, I'm really hoping he can develop like Marcus Smart- we really need a bench player who can play lockdown defense at the PG spot, especially with Kemba Walker not being too good at that end.

I think a pretty good comp for Sims is Deandre. Super raw athlete. His touch looks pretty good.

Get him signed to a contract immediately, can find elite finishers that easy. He’s a steal if they work with him. Noel and Gibson can be very helpful in his maturity.

Most polished. Staying all 4 years in college was a benefit to him.

This kid has some nice footwork already. What I did not expect was the skyhook and the floater!?! Wow looks like he already has more skills on offense than any other center we have
xavier @ 8/9/2021 9:20 AM
Okay, let’s not do what we always do. I really like the kid, but this is a summer league. Remember that Knox looked great there too. NBA is something else, though. Of course, Sims should be a project, but it is completely unrealistic to expect it to fall into rotation. The G league is waiting for him at the moment.
VDesai @ 8/9/2021 9:26 AM
Long way to go for Sims, but I was happy with his awareness activity. The issue with him is, yes he's a great athlete, but does he know what to do out there? Does he react too slowly? I think he played with confidence and showed he was a bit further along. 2 way contract is the right type of deal for now. Lots of time with summer league and training camp to determine whether he can earn something more than that.

He's much smaller than Marcus Smart, unfortunately

Smart has 1 inch in height and a 1/2 inch in wingspan and standing reach on McBride. Not that big of a differential.

Isn't smart 6'4"? McBride is 6'2" (if that)
