Papabear Says

This is no joke! It could really happen with their injury record. Could we still make the playoffs?? or are we doomed.

martin @ 9/15/2021 3:30 PM
What happens when the sky falls on us?
martin @ 9/15/2021 3:30 PM
When I walk to the edge of the flat earth do I fall off?

Yes. We'll sign Frank and 1248 will go full frontal Rainman on us!

What happened? We fizzled in the playoffs and the 5 retired. You then whined that Phil broke up that group after the 39* win season featured the newly acquired Bargs.

The world as we know it will end.

or maybe....

- Taj and Simms will fill in while Mitch is out
- Burks, IQ, and Deuce will share time at the point with Grimes getting more time at the 2/3.

It will be much more difficult to get into the playoffs in this scenario.

Miles McBride and Jericho Sims take us to the holy land.

Camby barely played, Rashweed gave Melo the three to the head and promptly retired and KT had the one great game in Utah. WTF are you talking about???
You're comparing those three hobbled ghosts to Derek Rose the Resurrected, he of the three foot vertical on his threes, Kemba who's all of 31 and Mitchell who just started shaving in his own garage.

Reel it in, reinman. Please.

jrodmc @ 9/15/2021 5:57 PM
And what do we do when Thibs starts spilling Pepsi all over the court?

Dolan starts making racial epithets the daily norm in the Post?

Leon starts showing up at practices dressed as a Triangle?

haha

maybe:

woodson could have played copeland more

jr could have been less of a dick

flu-tyson could have stood up to hibbert

prigioni could have shot the ball when he had open 5-footers

melo could have taken next-to-every shot instead of every shot

jrod is gonna fact check all of this... I hope you got it right.

And the answer is we get to see how good McBride, Grimes, IQ and Jericho Sims are

Injuries are a concern for every team. I don't understand your concern. Knicks have one of the deepest rosters in the league,I'm not sure if we need to be worried.

Biggest risk was Randle going down last season. With Fournier and Walker on board the risk of the offense catering if he misses time greatly decreased.

Nalod @ 9/16/2021 7:31 AM
Randle goes down, next man up. Enjoy the intrigue if Obi can step up/in.
If ts a disaster, we go lottery, we play more yoot.
In the past we did not cultivate yoot and often we traded our picks.
IT won’t be fun if we suck. But it could have purpose.
VDesai @ 9/16/2021 8:33 AM
We'd probably lose, but we might not win regardless so why worry?

We do have all our draft picks.

Philc1 @ 9/16/2021 9:12 AM
IQ would start at PG and we (gasp) sign Frank to be his backup

The depth at pg is a legitimate concern since Kemba has a ton of injury issues and Rose is not a full time player this stage of his career as proven by the playoffs

Pacers were just better than us. Younger, more talented and way more athletic. We were lucky to even make it a 6 game series

That 2013 Knicks team is a cautionary tale to the nets. You can have all the big names you can get but Father Time is undefeated especially in an 82 game season plus playoffs

Nalod @ 9/16/2021 9:25 AM
Parallel is good comparing last season to Woodsons geriatric squad. Melo carried the team the last month of the season and the team had swag. They had a “funeral” for the KG, Pierce led Celtics but instead of sweeping they pissed them off and extended the series.
That wore out melo an JR had his post season dumbing down. Knicks were toast by the time Indy came in. As Philc1 intimated we likely did not have a chance.

Last season Drose and Randle carried the team to a strong finish and 4th seed which was encouraging. But ran into a younger and deeper ATL that proved that seeding a bit of a mirage. Both great fun seasons for fans!

What happens after if we get injuries? April, we talking April??? I don’t know man, Like Copeland and Novack, maybe a player or two step up internally? Obi? Iq? Knox? Grimes? mcBride? All young, all talented. Odds are you create enough opportunities you get “Lucky”. Who wants to get lucky? We all want to be lucky?

BigDaddyG @ 9/16/2021 11:29 AM
Well suck. Just like Denver sucked when Murray went down, the Lakers sucked when AD went down and the Nets disappointed when Kyrie and Harden got hurt. Can only worry about the things you can't control.
