here maybe is the thing- you put him at the 5 spot, I think maybe it is a way to call him out and give him a way to re-invigorate himself and the team.

Maybe his role needs to be reinvented for him to get interested again. Maybe he is sleepwalking cause his bored, his not thinking. Maybe its the dose of cold water for his malaise.

It's not just the man to man defense. Julius has been horrible as a help defender. You put him on the back line and it would be a disaster. The only way it would help the team improve it's defense on the three point line is that teams will figure out that they can shoot 70% at the rim instead.

+1
And I don't get the answer being to push him to watch star centers and others have career evenings against him in order for him to re-invent himself and wake the fuhuck up.

Maybe Thibs takes him out of the rotation next. That would wake him up.

Yes, if this were me playing a video game version, I’d bench or put him into the second unit. He’s earned it. Struggles shooting, offense are one thing, but a lack of effort is another altogether.

And maybe he does get burned worse, but I don’t see how you bench him or put him on the 2nd unit. That would be a throw down worse than what Rivers gave Simmons.

Please name me 5 centers in the east that are better than Randle with the exception of embiid?

Centers don't have to guard mitch, they double Randle every time he touches the rock in the paint, and stay with in arms length of mitch

That just comes down to better rotations and recognition and hustle. Really, if Randle and RJ return to last year’s 3pt% and we make slight improvements in our 3pt defense, this team’s problems will go away.

Myles Turner is leading the league in blocks, yet the pacers are 10-16.

Mitch had 5 blocks in a defeat to the Bulls who shot 50% for the game

Blocks by an individual player have zero indication of anything the team is doing and is useless information

What about shooting, passing, rotating, perimeter defense, leadership, speed, spacing, rebounding.

You seem like you have a blind eye for everything they lack and only focus on the one thing they are decent at, sub par rim protection.

you have zero legs to stand on when it is a proven fact that we were a better defensive and offensive team with out Mitch as our starting Center.

In the 2+ yrs that Randle has been a knicks, he's look super suspect when playing with Mitch ( under Fizdale and now thibs), in fact the entire teams chemistry is way off.

Do you think we are better with or without mitch as our starter...and notice, Im not saying eliminating him from the rotation just the starting line up

When Randle and Mitch played together last year, the team lead the league in a lot of defensive categories. Both have been off this year and Mitch is clearly playing hurt and is out of shape.

Realistically, Mitch needed an extra month or months to get where he needed to be but he and team chose to play him. Most people see that. You spout off in spite of that.

After that, there is not much to add.

If Randle's guarding them, they don't have to be at Embid or Jokic's level. He will get torched by anyone with the way he's playing D now. And it won't matter how many bully ball fade aways he can hit in the paint on single coverage that your new FrankieMitchtheBeeyotch won't, because we'll be losing by 30 every night.

And by the way, oh genius of the telestrator, who are the opponents going to be staying at home on with Mitch out? Noel? Taj Gibson? The jumpshooting stylings of Jericho Simms? Or maybe the 15 seconds of Obi we will see before he blows a defensive assignment?

Or are you really going to continue thinking COY Thibs is going to abandon defense completely to play your 4 guards and Randle approach?

Bam
Vooch
Capella
BroPez
And Your boy Turner.

They are not better players, but better centers. Its all subjective so have at it.

Why do you insist on just the “East”? Cuz the WEst don’t count? It does in our record.
You do know that Zones are legal now? So if we go small, centers don’t have to man up on a small guy.

Funny you don’t harp on Gobert anymore. Why is that?

I support the change - but here is the problem with those numbers.

This year, small sample size.

Last year, Mitch went down at the end of the season, after Rose got here and the team started to play better. Had he played 82 games, I don't know that they numbers would be the same.

Mitchs per 36 & per 100 are really still solid.

But the dude looks hurt and out of shape. Is he? He sure seems it. And if he is, why not sit him and get him back to his old impactful form.

Has he blocked a 3 pt shot in 2 years?

You are aware that Noel and Taj haven't been really 100% available either, right?

And that Noel should probably be taking games off too but is giving it a go?

And that Taj is practically a grandpa?

I had been wanting to have Taj on the team forever. His game has aged extremely well. Given how it's not based on athleticism"wink wink" Mitch had exceptional speed for a C. Remember him surprising fools at the 3 point line with a block? Well those days are long gone. That extra weight has robbed him of his speed, and now he has 2 things left: boxing out and timing with his blocks (the second
I think is harder for him now because of extra weight)

Lately he has been hitting his free throws tho, at least it looks like he is sinking them. That's a nice development

So that's essentially it. We are in year 3 now. I know big men take longer ..

We are actually a better defensive team with out him this season

I was almost impressed by 1248 but then had the good sense to search the web using some of this and found were he got it from. Usually does try to find shit that makes his arguement.

Dude, always a good look to link were you got stuff from. Plagiarizing makes you look bad because you can’t defend what you really don’t understand. Martin threw in enough variables to dispute. You thru in someones work with arrogance and you did not even create the content. Wow, thats arrogant.

So the Knicks were better on defense last year with Mitch? Also, you always neglect the add that the improved offense also happened around the same time 🌹 came over.

He got full of himself and used this: https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/knicks-...

But his interpretive skills don’t include “what don’t I know”, so he leaves out variables.

Answer: he’s not a Center

But the producer has to hire a fact checker and intervene.

List of topics to discuss.

1. God's existance, the role of religion
2. Soviet economics
3. Where does the Tooth fairy get her funds?
4. Should Santa's elves unionize?
5. Is Blutooth Really blue?

This for the first episode. Anyone have suggestions for the 2nd? Either topics or Guests?

Elf 5 DNPs for the year already. I guess the Suns haven’t needed his below average at best perimeter D and 28% three point shooting

I'm in no big rush to see Johnny Bryant's head coaching chops.

here maybe is the thing- you put him at the 5 spot, I think maybe it is a way to call him out and give him a way to re-invigorate himself and the team.

Please name me 5 centers in the east that are better than Randle with the exception of embiid?

Centers don't have to guard mitch, they double Randle every time he touches the rock in the paint, and stay with in arms length of mitch

The problem is we have no rim protection if Randle plays C. He’s a 6’9 PF with a low center of gravity. Randle has some length but not anything like Mitch or Noel

Earlier this season in a game we lost(think it was one of the Magic losses) Thibs went with a small lineup with Randle at C and it was a disaster. The opposing players were able to drive to the basket or post up no problem

I’ve never liked Centers 6’9 or below. I still have PTSD from watching Scott Layden and Isiah try to sell us on Kurt Thomas as a C in the early 2000’s

So you thinks it's best to keep a center planted in the paint that can barely rebound even though he spends 90% of his time on the floor under the basket, A center who prevents his own teammates from driving to the basket, a center that barely draws attention from opposing defenses, a center that avgs .04 assist.

Maybe you forgot that before Mitch got hurt and gain weight, it was reckless foul machine

No one really “plants in the paint” anymore thanks to defensive 3 seconds rule (which is a dumb rule that’s ruined the game). Defense first Centers like Mitch, Noel and Gibson have to be able defend in space in the perimeter as well as block shots and rebound in the paint

Mitch’s issue this year is he has lost some mobility due to injury issues and some weight gain.

That said Randle simply is not a C, he’s only 6’9 (really 6’8). He and Obi together is an ok lineup for the offense plus Obi is closer to an actual Center

Randle does everything better than mitch beside block 1.7 shot per game

Robinson said “stamina” is an issue. “I’m getting tired real quick,” he added. “After six, seven minutes, it’s boom, I’m gassed.”
