The style of winning Basketball has change and you know the older you get the more it's difficult to change...see your parents

Thibs is still coaching a 80's/90's style of basketball, and all though we take more 3's, we are almost dead last in two major categories, ASSITS and PACE

Randle holds the ball for 5 to 8 secs, if that's not emphasize in the FILM ROOM and on the practice court, THIBs is obviously ok with that..

But it doesn't stop with Randle, the whole fckng team feels it's ok to receive a pass and then try and take their man 1 on 1..13 guys played last night for a total of 17 assist.....WTF

Watching GSW for the past 2 weeks, no one holds the ball for more than 3 sec, ISO's are set up to draw defenses, when they pass the ball they make sharp cuts, great screens, and smart reads....They are not a super talented team, they just play HIGH IQ BASKETBALL....We don't

Burks (a 10 yr vet with a career avg of 2 assists) has been on 5 teams in the last 5 yrs, none of those teams saw him as a PG..WTF

Do you think anyone (outside of IQ, ROSE, OBI) know their ROLES?

Now that kemba is benched we only have 1 new player in our rotation but play like the Lakers who have 10..WTF

Aside from the Jimmy Butler Drama, THIBs looks exactly like he did in MINI..

Love the guy, but he's has to change

OBI knows his role? What is that? Look like a doofus on defense so Thibs has someone to piss on?

I was sitting in a waiting room, being forced to watch Washington State verus Marquette. It was heinously, nauseating painful. Marquette was undersized and fast, and Washington was oversized and slow and doofy. They both played offense the exact same way. Bring the ball up, one guy goes iso, the rest stand on the perimeter and watch.
Over and over and over again. Either the iso player would throw up some shit, or would slash and throw the ball out to the perimeter after drawing a defender or two.

Only thing that was interesting was Marquette kept playing on 1-2-2 full court press most of the game, even though Washington broke it easily over and over again. Although Washington never converted anything as a direct result of breaking the press, they were just delayed slightly in getting into their iso set.

Lather, rinse repeat. No back cuts, no offball movement/screens, nothing whatsoever.

It's trash AAU basketball.

That's one of the reason MDA gave up on Melo, he ain't listening..

More importantly, why do we have 5 other players that consistently don't make the extra pass..

On fast breaks we have 3 to 4 guys behind the ball handler unless his name is OBI..

Those are habits you pick up in practice..

Some times in order to change you have to have no choice, like starting Noel last season.

I don't think you can slam him 100% for this - but, yea, it sure is looking like a problem, that our guys simply don't run a very dynamic offense.

Thibs did great last year, and historically has done quite well.

Do we have an assistant coach who is primarily focused on helping the offensive side of our game succeed? I can't find any story or mention on the google.

Need you to look at Mitch and Fournier on defense in these highlights and try not to cringed.

The knicks sole purpose on defense is to protect the paint, mix in with horrible PnR defense and a total disregard of the perimeter, especially on Fast breaks

notice when the knicks make the extra pass (more than 2 players touching the ball on a possession) the get wide open looks..but the hardly practice the habit..all the other shots come on ISO and one pass

I thought I made a really good illustrative point to your question which seemed to be kinda mocking.

Why doesn't every NBA coach tell their players to be high iq and play like GSW?

Because not every coach can focus and provide the system on offense that enables players to play like GSW.

MDA did with us. He got a super marginal talent like Chris Duhon to pass and create wonderful offense. 22 assists against Golden State.

Could Thibs do that? Seems to me his offense is give it to Randle, let him bowl his way to the basket or a turnover.

If we traded Thibs for MDA, I think it is safe to say our offense would look so much better, we'd probably be scoring a lot more points, Randle would absolutely be the center, he'd probably start Kemba, Fournier and IQ with RJ as the PF.

Now - we'd then be complaining about the defense. Our record might be worse.
