Randle signed a contract extension this offseason. Does that make him ineligible to be traded?
If he can be traded, I would be good with sending him to Sacramento in a swap for Da'Aron Fox. Their contracts line up pretty well in years and cost.Maybe we have to include another player to make numbers work, but we also need that 2 for 1 swap to get some roster flexibility.
If Charlottes pick conveys this offseason we are in a roster crunch. I figure Seldon will be converted to a 2 way to clear a spot for Sims at some point. But after that we have a cluster fuck.
No chance they trade Randle a few month's after re-signing him to an extension and even less chance someone trades for him - unless it's some elite team that feels he's the final piece. He's having such a bad season, there is probably no market for him right now anyway. If we wanna trade him, we gotta hope he starts playing a lot better.

I'm pretty sure Knox isn't returning. I think Noel, Burks and Kemba could be moved, with essentially one year left in their deals. Taj could also be let go with little to no cap implications.I'm guessing the Charlotte pick probably gets moved, or consolidated in a move for a better pick.

They are going to have to make some moves, that is certain. It also makes me a little nervous that they go the other way....move the yoots and the picks for a name
Randle is eligible to be traded on February as per realgm trade checker
Would you trade Randle for Ben Simmons?

I would

interesting question. Both are extremely flawed. However, with Ben we know we are getting elite level defense year in and out. Ben can't shoot but he will promote a more share the ball style offense. The problem is ben is being paid a lot more than Randle. This might be an opportunity to get off of EF contract. I am def open to going into deep conversations about a trade but it depends on what the 76ers want. Every time what they want is leaked it is a ridiculous amount. So they would probably want 3 young players and 3 picks with Randle or something.
Paying a guy big money with 6 out of 7 negative +/- seasons is just bad general management.

Same....Wonder if Morey believes Randle, Embiid and Harris can work together? Doc's oldschool, he may be on board with it.

A 3 way trade with Sacramento could get really interesting.

Absolutely. Sixers wouldn't though!
Realistically, if we have to get rid of Randle, I think the Maps would do a Randle for KP trade, though you'd have to find a third team willing to take KP (Ha, could never see him returning here!), plus Randle is from Dallas so we wouldn't be doing him dirty and he'd have much lower pressure than here, so it would be a nice fit for him.
Another option would be the Spurs- I could see him being their type of player.
Maybe the Kings?

But would you as a Knick fan rather have Fox or Simmons? and would the Kings rather have Randle over Simmons?

Simmons would fit with Mitchell and Hali. That perimeter defense would also be pretty stout. But I'm not sure Philly would want Fox. He could fit here though.

Add in Bagley, Harris, Fournier and a lot of pieces could be exchanged. I would rather have Fox. That Kentucky team was fun and I wanted Fox in that draft. I also don’t trust if Simmons could handle NY, at which point he would be untradable. So there’s the risk factor that is high with Simmons

Fox and it’s not really even close

Simmons could come cheaper but there is the contract. IF there is any thinking thru due diligence that Simmons cannot be rehab'd then I would imagine we don't go that direction under any circumstances.
What we read is not always what it is. In simple terms, if he a headcase, why bother?
If he a headcase, nobody will take him.
If he is potentially not a head case, he has some value.
Im saying it again, what do the coaches think of him? Not publicly, but in private? Do they want him here and get in his head, or stay clear? Wednesday an beyond a whole slew of players can get traded.
Naturally all our troubles fans think can be solved by trades.
I'll compare Randle to Bitcoin that someone bought when it was $17k , before the crash. Then came the crash when it dropped to $3k, that was Randle under Fizdale. Now Thibs comes, Randle becomes MIP so equivalent to Bitcoin historical max of $63k. Over the last month Bitcoin has dropped the $43k. Guess what's a terrible idea now? To sell it of course. Anyone who thinks it will not return and break it's highest point for the gazillonth time needs to think again. I am watching for it to start gaining again to buy more. But that's dangerous. Much safer and less profitable is to buy now, wait another half of year and watch it lose another 300% and try to stay sane. And in a year or two you will double your 💰 at least. Same with Randle, he will return.

How big of a headcase could he be? He choked once in the playoffs, but it is not like he choked his coach or anything.
You don’t trade Randle because he’s miscast as a #1 option. You find a way to build a team where he doesn’t have to be that. Clearly last year he was good in the role in the right circumstances, but he isn’t that player on a full time basis when expectations rise. He doesn’t need to be traded, his role needs to be adjusted.

We took a chance on the dude that choked his coach and that worked out for us. Got to the finals and he is an all time fan fav...
