Last week NY post said “knicks lose to the lowly Pacers.

Last week they had you thinking we were better then them and get you mad at knicks.
“How dare the lose to them, we deserve better”. Thats what i heard for some of you.

You are 100% correct. The media is the enemy of the people. How many people have they mind f’ed many people. Hell they f’ed up people with so many fake stories they voted for a guy in the basement. Anyways not to make it political. Knicks are a good team a playoff team. They just need to get that selfless player who rebounds plays defense and makes the extra pass to get everyone going.

ITs not that Media is the enemy, we need to think “is that reasonable” and decide ourselves. If you read facts you can become informed. If you digest opinion you become opinionated. The lazy and uneducated are not informed. They are opinionated and their vote counts.
Then factor in emotions and values and you see where it gets. Murky. IT it what it is. Banning media is not the answer for a democracy.

They get more hits from negativity than positivity. Yes you are right “we have to decide ourselves”. We rely on facts and when false is presented as facts. Then we are screwed. But getting back to the Pacers they are not a bad team they are going through the same as the Knicks. But they have a new coach and are learning a new style of play. The Knicks mistake was they didn’t bring back the same crew. And actually reduced the shine of RJ, Quickly with two bad acquisitions in Kemba and Fournier. They don’t fit the defensive model that Thibs incorporates. More than anything in the Atlanta series ball movement was the biggest reason the Knicks lost. Nothing was coming easy for them and it became more of a grinding offense. Which is basically Thibs weakness. We had shooters we just didn’t have ball movers.

it was his offense. not only no ball movement but also no player movement. guys just stood around waiting for randle to brick or turn it over. that's why when obi went in he took it upon himself to move and get himself free for dunks and the energy went sky-high. till thibs sat him back down. no one else moved to get open and there didn't appear to be any other plays called to get guys open.
and i don't get the obsession with the media. if you like the knicks, watch them play. and talk about what you saw with other people who watch them. why the focus on the media?

Well media is powerful when I do watch the games I do realize what is going on with the Knicks. But what happens with media is they turn fans against the team and cast a cloud over the team with negative headlines. Like today one of the headlines is “scuffling Knicks”. They are creating a negative narrative. Before you know it the team will be making bad moves and probably get the coach fired.

well i don't want to belabor it but i don't think that's the media. people go to the games, see that they suck, look at bullshit decisions they've made and chant "sell the team." he freaks out and makes more bad decisions. that's people voicing their feelings - they did't need the media to inform them of how to feel about what they're seeing.

The media is like the IRS. They are not your friend. They are not here to make your life easier. They have a job to do - sell papers, get clicks. As I get older, I've learned more and more to make my own judgement and not allow outside influences to bend my judgement. Look at the facts and decide for yourself. It applies to sports too. I don't need Marc Berman or Bondy to tell me this team is bad right now. We all watch these games and see the results.
Unless Randle and RJ start playing like they did last season and unless we start defending like we did last season, we will end up being what we were projected to be before the start of last season - a 25 win team.

Maybe it was berman that bemoaned that we lost to “The lowly Pacers” and the flavor is we are better than that. We are not, and it sets off the bing bong crowd the other way.

Is it really the media that is messing us up or are they just perpetuating fan's emotions and really bad takes? Just look at the daily fan over-reactions and emotional rollercoaster that is on this board as an example.
