Wow....how could anybody hate on Knox, especially now. Sure he hasn't met his expectations of a top 10 pick, but is it his fault that the knicks picked him that high? I never understood that. He's a good kid and never been a locker room problem. But can someone justify the anger and vulgur he gets from some (not all) Knick fans? This is why I always thought this type of anger comes from self hate.
I hope he lands on his feet with the knicks or with another team. I like knox even more now with this news. He probably donated more than some of the current NBA starters making 3x his salary. Nice move knox.
Kevin Knox is a good player he hasn’t been given the opportunity to succeed here. He is better off going to another team. The Knicks have it in for certain players that would be considered not their pick.
Kevin knox is not a bad guy as a person, he is a great kid
Unfortunately Players don't get PT for their charity work off the field.
He's not better than anybody playing in front of him, are you blaming THIBS for that?

It’s not his fault he got drafted by a franchise that was in disarray. They Knicks organization has already made up their mind on him. There is nothing he can do to get into the rotation.
This is very generous of Knox and it shows he's a caring human being and that's always a huge plus. As I've gotten older, I take a players character a lot more seriously. It's just nicer to root for players who are also good people and drama free. But that being said, Knox is draft bust. You can blame ownership or whatever but we've seen guys like IQ and Grimes play well under this new ownership and regime. I think sadly, Knox is just not an NBA rotation player. He should get another contract this upcoming summer and could be in the league awhile due to his shooting and character but truthfully, he might be best suited for overseas. But again, I don't want this to become a pile on thread so kudos to Knox!

Play better? Make sure his defensive focus is locked in? Go full out in practice and beat other guys?
Knox like Frank came into the worst of situations as a super young kid but ultimately responsibility lies with the player. Anyway I wish the best to Know who obviously has a good heart. Play well except when you play us!

Okay better he will get his opportunity in Atlanta.

I disagree and that’s ok. If knox was on the Knicks staff and knox selected knox at pick 8, then I blame knox.
You don’t know how grimes or iq would play if they was selected top 10 by a FO in disarray. You don’t know how knox would play if he was selected late first by this current FO like IQ was, where expectations are low. I think it’s ludicrous to beat up a player because he was picked too high, vs beating up the FO for picking him.
Different players perform differently based on the expectations that comes with the pick. For all the #1 picks that are called bust, what if they was picked in 2nd round and didn’t have the same expectations as a #1 pick. Listen to all the draft busts like Ryan leaf. Expectations of being #1 is what hurt him. He couldn’t handle the pressure. We seem to forget these guys are not robots.
NYK we need another leave knox alone thread. Can’t trash him and in the same breath say I don’t want this to be a beat up on knox thread. After u got your punches in. Knox is gone. How long will we beat up a dead horse.
This thread started with knox doing something positive for the community. And like typical knick fans, it’s slowing becoming a beat up knox thread. 🤦♂️
Good for Knox. Good luck to him in Atlanta. I think it was just a miss from the front office. I think they thought he would be a volume scorer, he just doesn't have anything he does particularly well/efficiently. He is still so young though and his shot is coming around. I think he will carve out a career, but it was too late for that to happen here.
Kevin was not a Thibs kind of player. He could still be a nice offensive smooth player off the bench.
Thibs wants a different kind of player. I wish him well in his future.
Reddish has more Jimmy Butler potential as he has the athletic quickness. Can't say he has the mental fortitude to become that. RJ will be a big strong kid but Reddish could be a Kawahi type player in a few yeas.
These guys are still just 21.
Knox does not have the quick feet and explosive strength to defend as Thibs would like. Mills and Aller are grinding their way slowly. I like it. Can't say I can slot the minutes or the path. As said in the came thread, might be a prerequisite to another deal or we know hold a piece to facilitate as a third party to a deal.

We traded a non rotational player for a rotational player. I think knox jumper was always solid. He needs to be in a system where he's allowed to jack up unlimited 3's. Thibs not having that, if you can't play defense.
In ATL, with Hunter back from surgery, Knox will take the same seat as Cam. I have a feeling both players will step their games up, especially knox. One thing I never said about Cam, was that he was a good defender. I thought he was very similar to Knox, from what I remember at Duke. I also thought he left Duke too early, just like knox. All offense and no defensive. Maybe Thibs sees something different in Cam. Or maybe the FO is just piling up assets for future trades.
Knox better watch his spending. $2 million is a lot for a guy who will be fighting for a new contract this summer.

He had an opportunity here
I'm surprised that no one mentioned that the other half of the center costs would be paid by in-kind contributions from the Knicks. The organization is giving all of the bricks at the rim they collected over the years.

Godspeed Fortnite warrior.

Very generous but thats what I thought. Skeptical he gets another long term deal. He might gwet a 1 year deal next season but beyond that Im not so sure.

Even at the end of the bench he would still make a million to a few million. Or he could go overseas. His earning potential is still pretty good when you think about it!
