I can't help but wonder if we would feel the same about Deuce if given the playing time.
He had one really good freaking outing, 15 points, 9 assists, 2-5 from 3pt land, 6-11 overall. Against a bad Houston team but it's still impressive. I think he'll have a nice career if he puts in the work and it looks like he is
I'll be honest, I don't understand the want for Jalen Brunson. I don't see much separation from Jalen and Deuce (other than Brunson having time to develop). Maybe I'm just being a homer though
They came out of college with vastly different PG skill sets. One is much stronger on the defensive side of things while being a very good scorer, the other is more of a traditional PG who was an integral part of that winning Villanova team and is not as strong defensively.
I see them both as flawed, cerebral PGs of similar value. Maybe I'm being oversimplistic here
I don't know what that means.
Deuce has yet to prove he can even exist and flourish in an NBA rotation; he has done super well in a GLeague environment and has had exactly 1 good outing in an NBA game against one of the worst teams in the league that was missing all of their decent players.
The other starts on a playoff bound team and will be demanding around $15-20M per year.
There has to be something that is missing in your "similar value" statement?

sorry I like our prospect and would rather give him the chance than sign an $18 million dollar a year playoff starter but sure let's get another EF while we can
