Another front office using a one for less than the value it’s worth. The only ressonable deal was knox and a 2. Any other end of bench players we need?
We have three 1st round picks (3) and six 2nd round picks (6) throughout the next two drafts.
If you think NY was ever going to be able to utilize that protected Charlotte pick... think again (not realistic).
Yeah it was a good flier. Cam can be good. Eventually we need to take chances on higher potential guys. You’re not getting a player of his talent with that Charlotte pick. Essentially it’s drafting Cam with the 19th pick last year. Very good value.

we traded Knox who was gone after this year (has he done anything in Atlanta yet?) and a conditional first round pick for Barrett's buddy from college who is still under contract for 2 more years.

Good, now all we have to do is find a way to trade EF so Cam can get in the rotation

Yeah but you are not looking at it through the lens of a complete blowout by the starters with the coda of an ungodly 10 minutes of garbage time play by Cam in his road game debut. Dude was 2-6! That's AWFUL
Don’t we have three first rounders?
And we traded Charlottes pick who are pretty much a guaranteed playoff team at this point, I’m not upset about that draft pick.
I’m actually a huge advocate of Cam Reddish. Delighted we picked him up. He brings perimeter defense, something we sorely lack. I think the FO is gearing for an identity change and when they do, Cam could find some minutes by taking a Reggie Bullock role next to Barrett and get that 7’1 wingspan in front of other teams shooters.
What the Knicks are doing now doesn’t work. It’s failing over and over. I see Reddish as a committed defender. In Atlanta he generally accepted the tougher defensive assignments. He can be a valuable 3&D SF. His downside is poor shot selection and an iffy mid range jump shot. To the extent he removes that midrange shot - his efficiency would increase. His corner 3 using that frame and wingspan is hard to defend.

This is a joke, right?
I thought we traded for Cam to be our starter at the 3. Not instant type of starter like EF, instead he is supposed to have potential ( I think he does) and we can develop him and he can be a part of our youth movement. The only way that this trade might be not justified is if this draft is very deep, like last year's.

BRIGGS with his infamous one game, 10 minute evaluation of a player- he's seen all he needs to know!
Cam has not looked great but he has potential. It is really up to Cam. If he realizes that defense is his path to playing time and commits to defense like Grimes has, then Cam will eventually get into the rotation. If he continues to focus on just jacking up shots in the belief that he is a budding star, then we did just waste a pick. Time will tell.

I agree with Briggs here. If Cam is going to just fill Knox's role and be an end of the bench player, then wasted #1 pick. If he was brought here to be a 30 min per game starter (depending on what he shows in practice), then good trade. ATL must be laughing at Cam, getting banished like this to Thibs's doghouse.
Thibs really likes guys who give it their all, and I'm not sure Cam does. He may have talent, but not grit and fire.

We gave them pretty much what we got back. And Atlanta has not lost since the trade. I guess someone thought highly of cam reddish. If so put him in rotation
