He'd be the only one on the roster who could consistently get off a decent shot (RJ isn't there yet and I'm not sure Julius knows what a decent shot is) CJ's medical history is kinda scary though.

I'm down with McCollum as long as it's a fair trade and we do our homework and make sure he's 100% healthy and there will be no long term effects. Never heard of a player with a collapsed lung.

my guess is CJ would involve Obi plus

Have to think core its EF/Burks to make the money work?
Don’t make them younger but makes them more nimble to move them?
Dare say IQ is in that where? Not all three.

I hope it’s for Randle… they legit don’t have a PF. Knicks could very easily move CJ for something good if they are smart.

CJ is clearly a very good player (better then anyone on our roster at the moment) - but not upper tier. He's not young, has some serious injuries to weigh, and I'd prefer to give that time to Grimes. He'd also force RJ to stay at the 3 whereas Grimes and RJ were more interchangeable b/c of Grimes positive defensive abilities. Oh yeah - and don't we need a PG way more than a SG?

I'd have to guess we would also have to know what is going out for CJ. Let's say it's Randle, Fournier, Burks for CJ, Bledsoe. Those are the roster spots and maybe more goes back and forth.

Obi gets a ton more time. Reddish SF time opens up. You don't need to play Kemba cause maybe CJ takes on the role. Grime time opens up.

Yeah - doesn't make sense to trade for an older expensive SG with RJ and Grimes, and Fournier and Burks... I'd actually prefer taking E.Bledsoe (old and overpaid) for Randle and a 2nd rounder if we could snag A.Simons as well

Can CJ play the PG position?

Definitely better than Kemba but that's a low low bar

But yes. And it leaves room to get the other young PGs more minutes.

Fine with CJ McCollum as a Fournier replacement- Knicks just seem to want a placeholder player with a biggish salary for 2 seasons after this one, CJ fit's that time line. Another sign that a Randle for Fox trade isn't happening though

That's a low probability all along most likely, and Fox is Westbrook light and looking heavier this season.
This works if OBI really steps up and we get a 4 for the 2nd unit besides TAJ. Reddish might be 6-8 but looks 210.

certainly seems like Portland is blowing it up, figuring there is no way they'll make a major move in playoffs.

CJ for younger assets (I don't see them being a Randle team)

How does Lillard and up on the Lakers?!? that's my guess
