Kemba and EF ruined our #1 D of last year. They destroyed us and destroyed Julius Randle too.
Lol, you need to start charging that man rent if he's going to be living in your head like that. Nothing to do with the post, but yes, excellent point, we were misled when we expected Fournier to be our "Defensive All Star"!!!
Foutnier's performance reminds me of H20, at the end of each game you watch you wonder how did Houston score 24 pts.
Truth be said, MitchRob Randle and Barrett should've been setting screens for Fournier & Kemba's perimeter shooting by now. We signed Fournier for his quick release shooting, not defense. Someone need to watch the defense of the Knicks most minute players.

Really, you should look at the math. His deal is hardly Monster. His defense is improved and your not seeing that he kept us in the game last night.
He makes 17mil. Thats good for 74th.
Im sure you can find all kinds of things wrong with your tilt for him, but he is not why we lost.
In fact, Memphis is just a damn good team.
His Defense? He’s not great, but he is making plays.

Plus he was clearly injured when he was not playing well. Gimpy ankle with tape and cupping marks on his shoulder made it obvious.

All the while we have Grimes stepping in as back up. This was Burks role until he was made PG again in emergency.
I wonder if NYMentality was serious about all star level Defense? Cuz EF is no allstar, not paid like one, and has no reputation for defense. Thus other than messing with his head, what is not understood?

Yes, because touching people on D while standing perfectly still is such a rampant problem in the league...
And they just lost to Sactown... LMAO
I do feel better now...

Or a tweet with the turnovers in the 4th? Keep it fair and balanced: We love IQ and his PG skills are still in development. I won’t argue against him starting but build him up to fans expectations then tear him down is a common occurrence.
I could live with him there the rest of the season though.
So for me I'm hoping for development and talent upgrade. Not going to soil myself when Kemba's knees give out, Fournier isn't a defensive stopper, or Randle looks at you funny.

You live with Zaire Williams making jumpers. Sucks it happens to us it seems every other game where the other teams worst perimeter shooter just has it against us. They also got all the loose balls and bounces. Good teams just find a way.Weird how our starters minus Kemba all played well and the bench did not except for IQ early in the 4th with those two baskets that cut it to 5. No complaints about Randle. He brought it an honest effort. He hustled and played hard and almost finished with a triple double. That is all you can ask for lately. Don't care anymore about his techs or shooting. It is what it is. But honestly hoping it's the last time we see him in a Knicks uni at MSG. It's just time for a divorce. Don't see this getting better.
RJ did a good job on Morant. So did Grimes. Morant missed 12 straight at one point. Fournier shot the ball well. Rob was a monster on both ends and shutdown Morant for the majority of the second half. Should be interesting to see if he's traded the next few days.
I think I've entered that place as a fan where losses are starting to bother me less and less. I've recognized it's a lost season and it's just not a good team. It's silly to get mad at a bad team losing games. I know we were just one game better at this same point last season but with this brutal road trip coming up and what we've seen so far, I think it's about to get really ugly. Personally for my sanity and mental health I'm just gonna try to view the rest of the season as an evaluation of RJ, Grimes, Obi, IQ and hopefully Deuce and Reddish.
Yep.

Number 22 Desmond Bane shot 4/18 (22.2%) and racked up 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 2 fouls, and 2 turnovers in tonight’s win vs the Knicks. What’s more, Today’s date happens to be 2/2/22. Put him in the HOF.

I'll just add I don't see us as a bad team. We are a mediocre to average team. Two, three years ago we were a bad to god-awful team.

You do understand that we traded away the top 18 protected first round... for lottery talent?

Plus there’s the fact that all of the good teams top talent was not top of lottery. Choose your team. The poster children for being bad and getting top picks are philly minny NO. Zero championships
It sounds good to say tank and get top pick but it doesn’t really work so simply. Of course all things being equal u prefer a lower pick but there are a ton more important things like culture development team identity mapping to ur actual roster

Good take. Randle stirring it up and trying to knock a young team out of its rhythm.
