Knicks · GameThread: Knicks start the roadtrip of death, first stop LA, on ABC at 830 (page 10)

RJ and Julius played great but one of the worst blown leads I've ever witnessed.

Evan Fournier and Kemba Walker once again destroyed us on Defense (like I said they would before the game) and they both shot us out of the game only going 4/14 from 3 with atrocious D.

Oh well.
5 games below .500.
4.5 back from even the 8th seed Play In.

I used to love Thibs but not anymore. The more he plays EF and Kemba the more I lose by love I once had for him.

The same team with Kemba and Fournier's atrocious Defense? They showed up vs LAL again and blew the game and lead.

Man. I miss last years team a lot Martin. Kemba and Fournier = worst Defensive backcourt in NBA history I can't stand watching it.

Not sure why he's even playing anymore. He's a complete waste of space because of atrocious Defense. Hated the signing of him from day one. Wish he'd go back to Orlando and lose some more already.

I've come to terms that we suck. I expect us to lose every game so Losing does not hurt.

Same here.

Mentally? I've quit on this team because of Evan Fournier and Kemba Walker's atrocious D.

I won't even let loses bother me anymore. Actually, if Thibs keeps playing Kemba and Fournier? I'll enjoy the loses because we're only a couple games away from a lottery bottom. 5 record.

2-8 previous 10 games? Either the Front Office is making Thibs start Kemba/Fournier or he's not a good coach as I once thought he was and deserves to be fired asap.

I mean, if your shocked at this point, it's on you.

Randle really showed how effective he can be when he plays like he has ants in his pants. He also hustled a lot more and had a great block on Westbrook.

RJ took a positive step guarding Lebron and hit that clutch 3 and dunk.

More then blowing that large lead - the fact that we didn't box out well (esp on AD) was concerning because that's all effort. Monk also really lit it up against us.

We'll know in the first few minutes vs Utah if we're going to fight on this road trip and try to sustain our effort/intensity for more than one half.

Yep, Though I'll add:

- I don't care about losing anymore, we're in the worst spot (outside the playoffs but with too many wins for decent lottery odds). We're the 10th worst team at the moment with 13% chance at the top 4 pick, if we fall to 9th our odds go up to 20%, if we rise to 11th we go down to 9%

- Was great watching RJ, he was amazing

- that sequence in the third where Lebron fouled RJ about 5 times in front of the ref, finally got called and then had the cheek to protest was ridiculous

- nice to see last years Randle show up for the game- I'll wager $5,000 we get this years randle in the next game

We have 2 separate teams slow, old ISO heavy vs Young, fast movement based. We need to pick 1 and build our team with that in mind. Half the team does not fit the other half.

I honestly didn’t see a speed team out there. Without a distributing shot making, up tempo pg this team is going to be hard to watch. I have to say McBride would have made a huge difference in this game.

Most mind boggling part of the game. IQ, our best perimeter defender, pretty much benched the second half while Monk was knocking down 3’s at will

In my opinion, Grimes, IQ, RJ, Rose and Sims are good at pushing. Cam is young but I don't know much about his transition game yet. There is a guard out there in trade rumors who would also fit that style. Fox for Randle would solve our ISO problems. It would solve our slowest pace in the league problem. It would also solve our Burks as PG problem. He is not perfect but Fox would at least make this team more watchable. I value that a lot.

SergioNYK @ 2/6/2022 10:37 AM
I'm not sure about you guys but I knew the Lakers were going to make a run to tie the game in the 3rd. It always happens. It's amazing to me how bad we are in the 3rd quarter almost every game. It's doesn't matter if we're winning, blowing a team out or even losing. You can always bet on us coming out flat, unenergized and playing stupid to start the 3rd. And it's not like Thibs doesn't see it. He called a timeout a minute into the 3rd quarter. Thibs doesn't play, there is only so much he can do. We just lack leadership on the floor. Not having a PG who can settle us down has been a killer.

But like some of you, I'm getting immune to the losses. We have to come to terms that we're just not a good team. Last season was fun but it was a major fluke. We're pretty much right where we started before last season began. It's like last season did not happen. I really hope Leon Rose and the front office doesn't chase trades this Wednesday that chases the playoffs this season at the expense of sacrificing the future. We should use these final 29 games to evaluate what we have and get ready for the future. That means trading away vets like Burks, Noel and Kemba. Get Reddish, Deuce and Obi as many minutes as possible. Experiment more with Randle and Obi playing together to see if they can give us something consistently together. Use the rest of the season to give RJ as many opportunities as possible to continue to do what he's been doing in being the alpha dawg on the team. Also see if Mitch can stay healthy and earn that extension.

There is no sense of joy or accomplishment getting into the play-in as a 10th seed. To go from a 4th seed to a 10th seed is embarrassing. I would rather increase our lottery odds.

Rookie @ 2/6/2022 10:55 AM
Did Thibs really play RJ 40 consecutive minutes? That is some hardcore malpractice. Our roster is 100% healthy and available to play

It seems to me you only watch games for those players you hate or love and there is barely anything inbetween. Tough way to watch.

I saw some most excellent ball and player movement in first half and then RJ, Randle go post up and ISO in second half and it KILLED the momentum.

Why even bother watching Kemba? He is not long for this team or playing time. Fournier will be off bench next year and has his obvious flaws for which we are all aware. For me, that's boring to watch or even hone in on.

I'm watching the young guys and how the team is operating.

Last year was nice and all if you are into Randle, RJ hero ball play all the time.

I hated the Fournier signing. Scott Perry needs to be removed. How is he still involved with the team? Terrible evaluator

It's weird how peoples feelings on EF is so diff. I have no problem with him. He is going to score but be inconsistent. He will also have some games where he will keep you in it or outright win it for you. His defense will not be great but he will get steals at better than expected. After his injuries he has lived up to his contract in my opinion. He might be even better for us off the bench where they play a more team centered game. EF can shoot but he is not a spot up shooter and that is what he turns into when we go ISO ball.

Ranked as the 157th Guard in the NBA salary to production. He is a 10 million dollar a year player making 20 million.
