Knicks · GameThread: Late afternoon affair against Portland, 5pm (page 8)

This guy is so much like me. While the Knicks win we still look for red flags. He pointed them out last game and they bit us in the butt this game.

Btw why are people not giving Thibs any blame on Grimes not getting any shots in the 4th. Other coaches have plays designed for specific players. All we have in the 4th is ISO Randle. Where are the Grimes plays to get him a shot when he has the hot hand? Do we run any plays to get anyone else a shot outside of ISO Randle and the 2 man game between Randle and EF?

Chemistry. The Knicks have been together for two seasons but lose to a team playing pick up ball.

Needed a palate cleanser after our horrible PG play so watched highlights of McBride's breakout game. How does someone who can do this get no chances until covid and no chances after 2 bad games fresh off catching covid himself.

C: Mitchell Robinson.
PF: Julius Randle.
SF: R.J Barrett.
SG: Quentin Grimes.
PG: Deuce McBride.

C: Jericho Sims.
PF: Obi Toppin.
SF: Cam Reddish.
SG: Immanuel Quickley.
PG: Derrick Rose.

This should be the rotation.

To see how these younger kids play alongside of one another without Evan Fournier/Kemba Walker/Alec Burks in their way to stunt their growth.

That would be amazing.

His follow up minutes after that game he diid not look good. It was more than garbage minutes too.
“Breakout” did not happen.

8pts 4reb 1ast in 20min vs GSW
15pts 3reb 9ast in 36min vs HOS

COVID

0pts 4reb 3ast 2stl in 25min vs DET with very good defense
7pts 1reb 1 ast in 24min vs OKC
3pts 3ast in 15min vs TOR

He got 2 games where the team got hit by COVID before he got it. He would have never got those if not for COVID. He got 3 games after he got covid. Many players don't look good fresh off coming back from COVID. However, McBride is not given another opportunity after 2 bad games. I say 2 because the Det game he might not have scored but he played excellent on D. Is he not allowed to be affected by COVID because he is a young player? Is that luxury only afforded to vets? These are rhetorical questions.

Sorry if you agree that he has gotten a fair shake this season we will have to agree to disagree. Thibs says you need to earn minutes. How is McBride going to earn minute when he don't play? Don't say practice because that is BS. That lie Thibs tells ain't going to fly here. He says grimes earned it in practice which is BS he earned it by playing well when Thibs was forced to play him due to COVID. Thibs will play young people if they play well but the problem is he won't give them a chance to prove anything unless COVID or injuries force him to. Cam has looked good recently but would not have gotten any time if not for RJ's injury.

For me the red flag is every few games when he gets rolling, he rolls an ankle or gets some other injury. I like him, but he is injury prone as heck

Coach Thibs showed us fans in this vid why the Knicks need a new head-coach for the 2022-23 season.
Quickley, Cam, and Obi played the first 2 min of the 4th quarter before Thibs took all 3 players out the game for Randle, Fournier, and Kemba the same 3 players who let a 23 pt lead dwiddle down to a 15 pt lead to end the 3rd qtr..
Randle's 41 min game produce no defense or offense in the 4th quarter.
Fournier's 37 min game produce no offense or defense in the 4th quarter.

Was this the Knicks worst game of the season?
Or was this just another terrible LOSS after the Knicks came off their best WINNING game of the season in GS Warriors ???
