This guy shoots 1 for 13 (.076%) with only 4 points and atrocious Defense.
But yet still gets 36 minutes of playing time?
How does that happen?
He single handedly ruined the game and made us lose.
How is he starting and not on the bench? Now I know why both Boston and especially Orlando Magic wanted nothing to do with him.
He wasn’t even the reason we loss, why don’t you look at the +/- of Fournier compared to Grimes, Quickley, Burks and Toppin.

+/- is the most overrated stat out there when players are carried by others.
1-13 shooting is why we lost and his atrocious DEFENSE doesn't show up on the box score.
1/13? 4 points? 36 minutes? Yeah. Ok. "+/-".
Plus/Minus is a weird stat. I like it more to see trends. However, it's hard to blame someone for a loss if they have a bad game but when they played they outscored the other team.

It's a good seasonal stat but not single game stat. Single game stat is worthless.
1-13?
4 points?
36 minutes?
Atrocious Defense?
How can anyone point to "+/-" in order to defend that?
His +/- was the same as Julius Randle's tonight? That's a joke.
▪︎Evan Fournier can't play Defense (atrocious).
▪︎ Evan Fournier can't rebound (2.9 rebounds per game).
▪︎Evan Fournier can't create for others (1.8 assists per gm).
☆ WHAT THE HECK IS HE GOOD 4? LESS THAN 3 3's made per game (2.9) despite 4 quarters worth of playing time?
This will be my last ever Evan Fournier thread created. He's not even worth my time anymore.

You ain't quitting Evan. You'll be back at it the next bad game.
I knew he'd a have a stinker of a game, he was tweeting the night before how he couldn't sleep because there was a party going on outside his room

Bro, you are so predictable. Using EF as a scapegoat to detract from anyone pointing fingers at your boy. We get it, EF had a bad game.
But EVERYONE had a terrible 4th. Simple reason we lost. Not to mention that the second unit continues to struggle and gave up big lead at the end of the 3rd. Which led to the 4th being one of the worst played quarters of the year. Which included Randle. Or maybe you missed his terrible possessions including his air ball, endless iso, and costly TO's down the stretch. Everyone played bad. Which is exactly what you need to lose a 23 point lead.

Come on man Fournier sucks. He was a terrible signing. He is an 10 million dollar player making almost double that. His prouduction is easily replaceable with Grimes/Reddish

Your opinion of what his contract should be worth has nothing to do with WHY we lost the game.
Never said he was worth signing or not. Nor that I think he has played up to his contract.
Just stating the facts that EVERYONE shit the bed in the 4th last night. Including JR.
However, EF was paid market money. If one includes years of production and statistical comparison.
He was brought here for 3pt shooting. He is shooting 40%. And let's not act like there were a whole bunch of cheaper better options in FA.
That is unless we use the ole retrospect crystal ball.
Late in the 4th to me it looked like we were overplaying Nurkic. Got easy layups and dunks. No reason to extend the defense out by the 3pt line giving him open cutting lanes to the paint.
I'm starting to think NYKMentality isn't a fan of Fournier...

Can't play defense.
Can't rebound.
Cant assist.
What was he paid a ton of $$$$ for?
For less than 3 3s made per game? 🤭😆🤭
No wonder why neither one of Denver/Orlando/Boston wanted absolutely nothingness to do with him; he's awful.

He is a negative asset at this point. He costs a lightly protected first to move. The teams only hope is Jalen Brunson strong arms Dallas into a sign and trade and we push him out the back door while returning their first.

He lives in my mind rent free.
I'm 36. The other day I played pick up ball at our local park. I got crossed over by a high school kid. Evan Fournier's face immediately came to mind.

in 6 games in Feb he still hitting the 3 at 40% even with that stinker. MYKMental thinks Fournier submarined his 60 win season

Fournier reminds me a lot of Dennis Scott. He's not bad, but he's not that good. He's a sniper if you give him any space and he's one of the few guys who can shoot you right back into a game and never really force anything.
I dont love the player or the signing but he's not trash. Trash is harping on a guy shooting 40% from 3 for having a bad shooting game and not getting why the coach plays him. Cmon man. Happy monday btw

Yeah, I'll go out and say the money isn't even that bad compared to the rest of the market. This team is just flawed in so many ways that nothing is working. Thibs is who he his and I don't expect to make the right calculations that will get the offense humming. This team really needs a PG

We salute you, fishmike, oh man of level headed reason and smooth retorts. This Bud's for you!
Plus, I bet fish might get dunked on at the local parks by high school kids, but he probably never gets crossed over. He keeps his man in front of him.
So NYKMental not only hates EF's defense, but he hates him vicariously through his own atrocious pick up defense! Yes, in a league of nothing but three's and dunks, that's a perfectly logical reason to bench the only 40% 3 point shooter on the starting 5. Because some shmoe on the UK gets his ankles broken and screams "Evan!!!!" as he hits the ground and asks for a hand up.
Come back Reggie Bullock, PUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHLEEEAAASEEEE!!! All is forgiven!!!!
One can say Evan Fournier's defense is the NYKMentality of Knicks win predictions.
https://sports.yahoo.com/video/ben-mclem...This is my problem with Fournier. Yeah, it shows him in the worst possible light, but a corner three airball that isn't a particularly good shot cause he is off balance and falling away from the defense. He is incapable of getting back and easily loses a footrace against Ben McLemore for an easy uncontested dunk. Its a bad shot that gives up an easy fast break. And you see the rest of the Knicks collectively drop their shoulders. What ensues is among the worst collapses of our season against a team that gutted itself two days earlier.
Its not good basketball.
