Knicks · This on the hot seat? (page 1)
I thought the Thibs & Woodson combination as Knicks head coaches were great. Woodson left at the end of the season .. And Thibs by himself is a BUM!
Thibs has turned a lot of Knicks players against him this season.
Thibs TANKING game after game are too obvious!
can’t fire a guy because he had a great season before and think that was the baseline. If you flip last with this year its an improvement from Fiz/Miller year.
We have chemistry issues and a budding young star in the making in RJ.
Woodson is gone, but its not like Thibs is alone. There is a bench full of assistants. Record speaks not so great of any of them. I suppose we need one if them under 40 uber smart coaches that are all the rage?
Probably the same ones who called for building culture here. For building the right way. For stability?
WTF?
How bout we give the guy a PG? How bout we look at guys having bad years? Including our best player.
Every side chair GM who thinks they could have pushed every right button is real upset. They guarantee that every young player they would have subbed in would have won every game. They claim Thibs should have played all the rooks after our first loss. Because they just know what they are capable of. They claim despite key players being hurt they would have made the right moves to remove the issues. Yeah...there are a lot of those in NY.
We all knew what Thibs was before we brought him here. He has not changed. Expectations have made many forget that.
Trade the players! They suck! They suck NOW! I see lots of better players on other teams! I want them NOW!
Fire the FO! They signed Fournier who only hits threes at 40%! WTF good is that?!?!?? They signed Kemba! He sucks! And all their draft picks now suck except Grimes and maybe Mitch!
And sell the owner!

Knick City Dancers? Sportscasters? Uniform tailors? Former Giant QB's that never got a shot? They bear some blame here too!
I call for Berman to take over for Thibs. He FITS into the role quite well.

Are there even Knick City Dancers anymore, other than in martin's broken-hearted game threads?
And the bold will never get old. Classic thread.
Relax, Berman, Relax!

this should be the case if things are building in a decent direction (whatever that is defined as, dunno). they should not keep guys around just so they can say they havent fired someone recently. if they are doing a bad job and not meeting goals, you gotta change out those people. continuity for the sake of it -- what does that accomplish?

If the Raps don't fire the COY for Nurse I don't think they win a championship.

Back that truck up.
If they don't trade for Kawhi and he doesn't hit a miracle turn around deep 2 point shot at the buzzer against Philly they may not even make it past the second round.
Since Kawhi has left, Nurse has been worse than COY Casey year over year.
Rosters matter.

You might be mixing up the team has been worse vs Nurse has been worse. They went all in for that ring. Which means they would pay for it on the backend. It does not mean Nurse has been worse. Ask Rap fans if they would rather the COY or Nurse now. Don’t we have a former Knicks fan that converted into a Rapter fan who frequents this forum. Maybe he can answer which coach he would rather have.
Edit: also luck is a part of every championship run. Without good enough talent and coaching you won't be in position for luck to take you over the top. We can get lucky for the rest of the year but guess what our talent and coaching is sub par so chances are we still would not make even the play ins.

Pretty sure Kawhi was key here, not the coach.
In the same vein, You might be mixing up the team roster has been better vs Nurse has been better?

Never said Kawhi was not a key. You are severely underappreciating the value of good coaching. Kawhi takes care of the talent side of things. The coaching is there to put him in the right position to succeed and to make adjustment needed during a 7 game series. Thibs can't even make adjustments over a regular season. If Thibs was the coach of the raps it might have been a Randle turn around 3 situation. Then that miracle shot might never even have a chance of happening.

They have the same issue with Casey as we have with Thibs. They both have an inability to adjust.

Pretty sure I haven't made any comment on Nurse as a coach.
In the same vein, I am pretty sure you are underappreciating the value of having a superstar on the team.
YOU associated Nurse and the championship.
I think Kawhi was key.

That sure seems like a comment on Nurse as a coach. Raptors fans disagree with that comment.
Also how could I be underestimating the value of a superstar when the very next sentence after what you bolded said "Kawhi takes care of the talent side of things. The coaching is there to put him in the right position to succeed and to make adjustment needed during a 7 game series. "
That pretty much gave a lot of credit to their superstar at the time and the coach for putting that superstar in the right situations to succeed. You know like not with the ball behind the 3pt line with your back to the basket.

So it just the coach making adjustments or is it also the roster talent? I think we can agree on both?
Why hasn't Pop made an adjustment in years? Or is it that the roster just sucks?
Last year Thibs made adjustments with RJ and Randle but not so much this year? Is he holding out on us?
Maybe your larger point is even if Raps had Casey WITH Kawhi it wouldn't have mattered?
