Just draft a PG. Can we finally draft for a position of need? I am done with drafting based on potential. Our coach would rather play out of position vets. So low floor older players that are ready to contribute right out of the gate are Thibs thing. Ok, fine lest get him such a PG.
smackeddog @ 2/17/2022 4:41 AM
Problem hasn't been where we've picked- Donovan Mitchell, SGA, etc etc- there were great players available- it's who we ended up picking that was the disaster

Well exactly. 8/9 seems to be out Achilles heal

Knixkik @ 2/17/2022 7:37 AM
TyTy Washington if it’s a PG or Kessler at center. Both are fine. But I have a feeling we will seek a more veteran PG unless it’s a full rebuild which it won’t be.
EwingsGlass @ 2/17/2022 7:58 AM
We can just sign Malik monk to a 4 year 80mm contract. Will solve all our problems

We drafted Ntilikina, its not like the front office has never invested in the pg position lmao.

Unfortunately, this draft does not have many lottery projected pgs. This is mostly a big man draft, so I don’t think it will happen this year.

JesseDark @ 2/17/2022 8:56 AM
Isn't that Euro guard they have over there suppose to be the real deal?
TheGame @ 2/17/2022 9:12 AM
Team will probably draft 10th or 11th unless we win the lottery, which never happens for the Knicks. There are not really great PGs in this draft. Jaden Ivey Is the best guard that plays some point but he seems like a combo guard. The other PGs have potential but holes in their game. Ty ty Washington is solid but can he consistently shoot?

Ty Ty might be available around 10 or 11. If we draft him, we should trade Quickley for a first round pick, and cut Kemba. Go with Rose, McBride, and Ty Ty as our point guards for next season, unless we sign Jalen Brunson. Hopefully, we can trade Burks this offseason and give his minutes to Grimes.

I think Knicks going to trade their picks and players in a big trade on draft night... We not keeping those picks. Somehow an impact player will be available to obtain..

He is one the top prospects in Europe and I'm sure he can come in and be a backup. Not sure how he holds up athletically, but he has solid size, can shoot, is aggt going to the paint and can make consistently good reads off the PnR.

A lot of the best PGs have been undervalued in recent drafts, with the exception of the real high ceiling guys. There'll be opportunities with the two first-rounders. But the best move is just to go BPA. They need a PG,but I don't want to see the club force what's not there.

Which would be dumb, but typical Knicks. We should have continued to rebuild after 2019-2020 season. If we can somehow get into the top 5, we definitely need to keep the pick. That player has a chance to be more impactful than whatever player you have in mind, especially w hen you consider that the player we pick will be on a rookie deal and we do not have to give up anyone to get him.

That’s why I said we kind of suck when it comes to drafting. The guys we get r ok but the guys we miss have been incredulous. We’ve missed many game changers

BRIGGS @ 2/17/2022 11:02 AM
Look at Keegan Murray 6-8 230 sf. Like a Carmelo paul George hybrid who plays excellent D
BRIGGS @ 2/17/2022 11:04 AM

What we need is our own home grown star as well

I think we're okay with the latter firsts and second rounders, but I agree- the top ten picks have been beyond a joke

I got it! Trade the 8th pick to the Miami Heat or SA Spurs so they can make their PG selection. After they pick - trade them 2 #1 draft picks so we can have their selected pick traded back to us. That way we'll end up with a good pick :)

Generally speaking PGs are 4-5 year projects. The ideal situation is to trade for a PG who has already got a few years in.
