Knicks · Would you draft Bronny James to get Lebron in 2024? (page 1)

jrodmc @ 2/21/2022 11:47 AM
I wouldn't fuck every ho in LeQ's harem for a billion dollars to get Lebron at any time in the future.

And I can imagine that could very well blow up in any FO's face dumb enough to do it.

Can't wait to see Triple's take on this.

It would be very Knick like for us to burn a first round pick in Bronny just to watch Lebron burn us again

That said. The odds of Lebron signing here if we draft his son are 50/50. Before they were more like 1 in a trillion.

Uptown @ 2/21/2022 12:15 PM
Lebron would be 40 in 2024. Why? Then again, it would the Knicks thing to do...Add a past his prime player in hopes of capturing past-glory: Kemba, Tracey McGrady, Baron Davis, Jalen Rose, etc...
Knixkik @ 2/21/2022 12:19 PM
If bronny is good and lebron comes for a minimum contract (which is indicated ) than sure why not ?
Nalod @ 2/21/2022 1:21 PM
Sign max contract for Lebron is stupid and even dumber to get all pissy about it.
But……

Lets ask some questions. Where are we in two years years? We the same as today? Of course not.
How good is Bronny and where is he being drafted. Low first round? 2nd? Thibs gonna play him? LOL
Thibs even here?
What is Lebrons health and exectations , and how good are we?

We gonna answer this question two years out?

fishmike @ 2/21/2022 1:48 PM
what if Bronny is really phucking good but you are like "we gotta let his dad play with him the first couple years if we draft him"

That might be the real question... cause it will be all about them

For LeBron and Bronny's sake, I hope the kid is a legit prospect and gets drafted. He already has some pressure on him for being LeBrons kid. I've seen some reports that say he looks like a 2nd round draft pick. There's still time for him to grow, of course, so we will see.

If they got game, then the answer is obvious. If not, it will play out.

it’s just like you to waffle . . .

Is Bronny even an NBA player?
franco12 @ 2/21/2022 5:34 PM
I would not draft him to get Lebron- I would draft his son because of any talent he might have and the likelihood the kid will probably not wilt on a big stage like NY.
BigDaddyG @ 2/21/2022 6:01 PM
I mean....we signed Chris Smith and JR Smith is nowhere near LeBron, even at 40 I'm betting. I'm not drafting him more than Id have him on more my board, but the Lebron button definitely gives him push over similarly ranked prospects.

Short. Fundamental defender. Will have no ability to get to the rim at the NBA level. At least for his level, he's got pretty good court vision.

So there will be two versions of Bronny. The guy you see in college and the guy you see when he's old enough to start cycling PEDs.

Ceiling is a 4th guard. Massive advantage he has is the ability right now to play against elite, for his level, competition. Massive disadvantage is everyone is gunning for him on the court based on his last name and father.

If his father was a truck driver or a dentist and not a future locked in HOFer, no one would care. He's not talented enough to make people care on his own.

A team in the first round starting in the 20s might give it some thought. The pan out rate at that tier isn't exactly very high in general. Because of the inexpensive RSE slotting, it means Bronny James would get at least a four year career in the league.

Rich Paul can just talk to teams in private and say if you draft Bronny James, LBJ will change his mind and not sign. It's looking more and more like LBJ and his son will be able to pick their destination, which will probably be Cleveland because it makes the most marketing sense.

Fundamentally, this is a marketing decision more than a basketball one.

I hate LeBron so hell no!
jskinny35 @ 2/21/2022 7:38 PM
Never a big Lebron fan so yes - let's sign him as revenge for always toying with us in free agency. He can end his career finally knowing the suffering involved in playing for NY :)
ramtour420 @ 2/21/2022 7:51 PM
The only question is : is he a PG ????! Don't care about anything else. At this point i am ready to draft , trade and sign PG's nonstop until Thibs finds his floor general
Panos @ 2/21/2022 9:00 PM
Didn't we already try this with Thanasis Atentokoupo?
jrodmc @ 2/22/2022 9:07 AM
Did we learn nothing from the Chris Smith thing?
jrodmc @ 2/22/2022 9:09 AM
Pat Ewing Jr?
Nalod @ 2/22/2022 9:46 AM
If Bronny is good, yes. Kid is a junior in High School and trending 2nd round projections.
Does he grow? Does he stagnate? Does he play in College for a year? Jump right away?
How good are we in two years?
What is Lebron looking like in two years?
MaTT4281 @ 2/22/2022 11:30 AM
I'm looking at the LeBron piece as extra baggage.

Best case scenario - Bronny is a solid prospect and LeBron not gassed yet...

If you're not ready to start Bronny, LeBron makes a fuss.
Bronny not featured enough in the offense, LeBron makes a fuss.
Both Bronny and LeBron in your SL, you're watching a two-man game.
Team struggles in that first year, Coach/rest of team thrown under the bus.

Bronny would need to be really fucking good if you're going to endure that.
