Knicks · Chet holmgren best nba prospect in 10 years better than Zion (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 2/25/2022 12:35 PM

Every time I watch him u see amazing. He’s like a new age Larry bird. A center guard hybrid with Kevin Durant like offense but also a great defender. Skinny but tough. Handles are incredible jumpshot is perfect. He’s a franchise changer. They can keep putting jaden Ivey or smith at 1 but this guy is the best prospect. We could fit him in immediately at the 5 position or trade Randle and move him to 4

BigDaddyG @ 2/25/2022 1:04 PM
I agree Cher is a beast. I would still rank Evan Mobley and Duke Zion as better prospects going into the draft, but Chet is a true 🦄.
Nalod @ 2/25/2022 1:19 PM
Briggs loved Bol Bol amung others.
Kid looks like he will get eaten alive in the NBA with that body. The talent is there but unless the physicality develops it won't until then.
Looks more shawn bradley then Joker.
HoustonSprewell84 @ 2/25/2022 9:00 PM
Agreed, if we got #1, Chet and RJ for 10 years 🤤

He’s a stretch 5 who can dribble, he can score in the nba now. He’s basically a more athletic Porzingis before injury, and a better rebounder, and shot blocker lol.

I was skeptical at first also, but when I saw he already has a deadly 3 point shot. Then you see the other things he can do, he would be my pick.

franco12 @ 2/26/2022 5:49 AM
What does he weigh, 180? He should probably stay in school all 4 years just to fill out his frame.

Whatever team drafts him should stash him in the g league until he bulks up to at least 220, 240.

Pepper @ 2/26/2022 8:27 AM
hes a unicorn. great prospect. but ive seen that movie before. he will have to bulk up, get a lot stronger, and most importantly stay healthy. At least to become a true franchise changer. Giannis did it.
Uptown @ 2/26/2022 9:01 AM
From a pure skill standpoint, especially considering his size I agree.... He can shoot it from deep like a guard, can handle like a wing and protect the rim like a big. Only concern is frame and will it hold up. If he is able to stay healthy, he has a chance to be an all time player...

Reminds me a little bit of Ralph Sampson with range....

Nalod @ 2/26/2022 9:37 AM
Ralph had range and was far more athletic. Chet has skills but that body has to fill out. Then then we know does he have the body to play in the nba.

We are 2 year away from 10? LOL.

Yes...Ralph was a much better run and jump athlete and faster end line to end line...Both are/were thin but Chet is anorexic compared to Ralph in college. Both have advanced skill sets for their size and both can dominate both sides of the ball...

That thinking is exactly why the blazers picked Oden over Durant.
Durant had the same body in college that Chet has now.
There were a lot of doubts that Durant would fill out.

Good comparison. Kd could not bench press 135 and was a stick

These will be difficult decisions for Chet and his family. Go to the NBA and earn upwards of $12M-15 per year on a 4 year guaranteed salary whose base is $8M or stay in college to bulk up.

NIL deals make the decision a little bit tougher, especially if Chet has a good NCAA tournament. But I still think he jumps into this year's draft without hesitation.
Nalod @ 2/26/2022 3:39 PM
If he is “new age larry bird” and for sure better than Zion, of course1

Yes and No. Durant was a wing. Chet is going to be playing Center. Its a whole different game. Whats he can doing to do when Embid leans on him, break in half? That being said this draft is ass so Id take him if the oppurtunity arose.

I’d play him at the 4. If we were lucky enough to draft him I’d build the team around him and Rj. But the only way to get him is pick 1.

ToddTT @ 2/26/2022 5:30 PM
I won’t be able to watch games if he somehow winds up a Knick.

If his joints don’t fail him first, I think his first dose of NBA contact will result in every cell in his body exploding into another dimension.

All that will be left is his sneakers and uniform laying on the court, and maybe a poof of smoke.

I wish him success though.

Jimbo5 @ 2/26/2022 6:05 PM
Mitch was also skinny coming out of college, yes he is abit bigger i think once mitch followed the diet and program of the medical staff we saw the results. The knicks trainers might to the same and help chet get ready to play with the big boys.
Philc1 @ 2/26/2022 9:06 PM
His upside is Porzingis minus hopefully the douchiness.

Chet will be a PF for the same reason KP has always played PF. Center is the one position left where you absolutely need some size and strength. The kid had crazy length but he’ll get boxed out all day by most NBA Centers.
