omg its like Frank all over again. Instead of needing Fiba Frank we need Gleague McBride. Its ok. He's a hard working kid playing a role and easy to love. I do expect him to have a breakout game. Just hit a 3, get some confidence and start attacking.
I’m not seeing the comparison. Deuce ran the gleague and impacted their team wins. I don’t see Frank making that same impact. Plus Frank is 6’6 with long arms. Deuce is 6’1 with long arms. They are different players. Frank is a typical international player with plays team ball. Deuce also plays within the team concept. So did I just talked myself into agreeing with you?
players arent much alike.. its the fans desperation and love for them both do well and for anything good that happens when they are on the court. Frank got hate as a lottery pick, McBride wont see that but the excitement over a player who fouls more than scores is on the same level.
Im a McBride buyer.. I just think its cute
Its also the one real positive this FO has shown... they had a nice feel for getting guys who can play roles and help late in the draft and thats really good
I'm not concerned about Deuce fouls which are more than he scored, since he's the 5th option and a humbled rookie who just wants to do what coach ask. Plus he's playing with high volume players that are not shy to shoot. His points will come around. The one advantage he has over Frank (as Nalod said), Deuce is not shy when it comes to shooting the ball. But it's a learning experience to go from being the main option with the ball in your hand, to being the 5th or 6th option without the ball in your hand.
Also, when you are known at being a defensive stopper, you tend to put all your energy on defense, which leads to more fouls. But the goal for Deuce is to spread his defensive energy to the other 4 players around him, whenever hes on the floor.
And how exactly does a Gleague second rounder do this to people like Fournier and Randle? "A foul! Yeah! That's right! Look at that! I fouled him up good!"
Sims is rebounding his azz off, defending the whole court and he gets benched in crunch time because Mitch sets better screens? So much for spreading defensive energy...

Thibodeau talked about all "the young guys" who are playing and getting experience. A cynic would say those young guys are getting experience in losing close game after close game in the fourth quarter, but Thibodeau has no choice but to take the long view with the Knicks needing a miracle just to make the play-in tournament.
"That’s all part of learning," Thibodeau said after the Knicks ended a 3-4 road trip. "As long as we're playing hard, and we're playing unselfishly . . . This trip was good for us in many ways, because when you're playing against quality teams, it makes you play better and then it also shows you the things that we have to improve upon. So that's where I want the focus to lie: Just keep getting better, keep coming in and give everything you have to the team. We're very shorthanded, so our margin of error is small. But the byproduct [of] the guys being out is other guys get an opportunity."
