So giving up 6 straight easy points by having Taj get abused on the boards has no bearing on a close game? Interesting. Lets look Taj = -6 in 1min 40 seconds. I wonder why he only got that much time. Because he was getting abused. Sims should have been in instead of Taj but our coach defaults to vets before youth no matter what. Without those easy scores maybe we pull this game out. We don't have the talent level that gives us much room for error. That quick 6pt swing hurts us because we struggle for every point we score.

In spurts Taj is a capable player. For better or worse, he had a bad day and a bad 2 minutes. On another night maybe things are completely different and Taj impacts in a big way, he has done it before

You know what was shocking to me? A Thibs fav guy played poorly for 2 minutes and got immediately pulled for a second round rookie and it was well deserved all around.

If you want to ding Thibs on this, have at it, but you are better than that. It's tedious but it does seem to me your disdain for Thibs overwhelms everything else.

These fans crack me up.. there's a lot of them who believe their team is the best except for like some bad apple, like Thibs losing us the game, or Fournier keeping us from 60 wins, etc.. Knicks just need to get better.

I missed the game because of a birthday party my friend threw. Just to watch this clip I had to enable VPN otherwise it loads too slow. All this damn politics. I just want to watch my Knicks.

That is a good way to put it. My problem is though Thibs says he wants short rotations so with Sims already doing good why even try Taj. WHo cares in the gran scheme of things because we suck enough for this to matter much.

One day we make the argument that the coach should try everything to win a game ala Lue, the next we question why Thibs just does that and then put forth another quote about something else.

the last 3 games Taj played he was +19, +16, +9... its just so stupid. Like these guys are robots

You put a lot of words into my mouth. I am the first one to say we are trash. There is a reason why I said he was partially to blame. I am guessing you overlooked the partially part. I will forever point out mistakes Thibs makes for people like you where it seems like he can do no wrong. If you want my critiques on the players go back in the game threads throughout the season. There are plenty of them there.

Also I never said Taj will always be bad. This was obviously a bad matchup for him. Taj is not strong enough to go against Drum. It is obvious to see before the game even started. There are not many true bruiser centers in the league. Drum is one of them and Taj is a PF playing center mostly because the league likes to go small now. Sims already did a decent job vs Joel. So why even try Taj vs Drum?

Yeah I saw that as well. I only caught some of the second half. And I missed most of the 1st half. But this team isn’t very good and any rotation mistakes thibs makes will be highlighted. Is it thibs or just overall a lack of talent and confidence. Either way, I believe the best development is game time. Good for sims. Maybe this earns him more playing time. I still say sit the vets and let them be backups. Sitting taj for sims was a good move on thibs. I can’t fault him since taj has been solid the last few games. Now we will see how thibs balance the mins since sims has played solid and he’s the future while taj should be on a vet team trying to win a ring. This season been over. I’m looking forward to seeing more youth development.

Frank hit a clutch shot that helped upset team USA and get his team a medal in international play. I think that's at least on par with tearing up the G-League. Not crapping on Deuce, but you have to take his G-League stats with a grain of salt when you have guys like Nik Stauskas dropping 60 points in a game.

Gleague Deuce im not so sure is “Team first guy”. Not a negative By the way. Frank did not know when to look for his shot or manage the game. Deuce gets to NBA from Gleague were he can physically impose his will and its not as easy, which is to be expected and he has Thibs in his head. This will change with experience and time. Experience he is getting now. He is a work in progress.

Its also the one real positive this FO has shown... they had a nice feel for getting guys who can play roles and help late in the draft and thats really good

players arent much alike.. its the fans desperation and love for them both do well and for anything good that happens when they are on the court. Frank got hate as a lottery pick, McBride wont see that but the excitement over a player who fouls more than scores is on the same level.

I'm not concerned about Deuce fouls which are more than he scored, since he's the 5th option and a humbled rookie who just wants to do what coach ask. Plus he's playing with high volume players that are not shy to shoot. His points will come around. The one advantage he has over Frank (as Nalod said), Deuce is not shy when it comes to shooting the ball. But it's a learning experience to go from being the main option with the ball in your hand, to being the 5th or 6th option without the ball in your hand.

Also, when you are known at being a defensive stopper, you tend to put all your energy on defense, which leads to more fouls. But the goal for Deuce is to spread his defensive energy to the other 4 players around him, whenever hes on the floor.

Sims is rebounding his azz off, defending the whole court and he gets benched in crunch time because Mitch sets better screens? So much for spreading defensive energy...
