That’s actually what most coaches do. They play the high dollar contract players first. There’s only a few coaches that will play talent over contracts. Thibs ain’t one of them. He clearly played contracts and vets over rookies and yoots, until Covid forced him to play his yoots more.

With that said, and as much as I dislike thibs, he’s probably our best option right now. And there are more positives than negatives, but only slightly.

as long as it isnt for the sake of saying they havent done it, then it may not be too bad. keeping a guy around that the folks in charge think is not working out and keeping him around as almost a pr move would be continuity in the wrong direction.
