Knicks · there isnt a FA savior this season and that is OK... this is a pretty good core to run back next year (page 2)

man you really love Brunson... that is just not a guy you spend on to lead your team. IQ and McBride both have more upside, they just need time. Brunson is great for the 33rd pick. Not for giving up assets to lock in for 4 years to run your team. You are really overvaluing him

Please everyone. Stop with the Brunson. Dude is straight trash. He's not even running PG on his own team, Luka is. Brunson is the sort of garbage that we'd lock in here and then everyone complains. I knew Kemba would be trash. We need to get a top PG in the draft, period, and roll out like Ludacris.

And regarding this main topic, I agree, there is no FA savior this year, and that is not OK, but we have no cap space anyway, so we have no choice but to run it back. Bench the trash out of position Burks at PG we have now and run McBride for the last 10 games - see what he got.

We have a trash core - no superstars, and you need 3 to win in the NBA.

Randle is not the answer.

RJ is a second or 3rd option. We need to draft stars.

The bold... that's a little rough but not untrue at this time. Its also why I SMH when I hear Thibs getting trashed every game as the source of our problem.

RJ is 21 and very close to being a "star" caliber play.
"Randle is not the answer" doesnt address last year's team or the fact that he's a very productive player. He's surely not the #1 but as a #2 or #3 (see playing with Rose last year) he's pretty good

Randle you can take him or leave him but not getting value back is a huge backward step

I agree, but, at this point, it's safe to say that Randle has little value. Sometimes to move forward, you have to move backwards. Maybe they can move on by packaging Reddish and another protected pick to get out of that salary.

You would trade essentially 2 first round picks just to move Randle? That seems insane?

I hate Randle and wouldn't even touch that trade scenario.

To be honest the only people in the core I’m excited about is RJ, IQ, and Mitch. Even then only one of those guys are all star caliber.

Grimes seems good but we need to see more. McBride isn’t that good. OBI Toppin should most likely be moved to maximize value.

Ahem, Sims. Possibly better than Mitch.

I'm no that attached to Cam and Thibs doesn't seem to be either. Would Deuce work better for you? The truth is Randle, at this level of production becomes an albatross next year. His cap implications will become the biggest obstacle for the franchise moving forward and the team needs to bite the bullet. I'd trust Aller to put the right protections on the pick. We know that all first rounders that get traded aren't equal.

I like Sims a lot. He doesn’t have Mitch’s defensive impact but he’s got a better feel on offense.

Nalod @ 3/24/2022 8:29 AM

great players are great players. Some are Qb’s like Paul who just does so many things well.
Jah Morant is a graet player. Great PG? I don’t know but he flies and creates plays. With shooters around him and aa tough swagger they are a good team. Steph curry a great PG or just a great player that does great things all around.
Draymond is more a PG as he is a distributer. curry is quite good at finishing!

Assists the tell all? They matter. BTW, Evan been getting more as the season is coming on. Impressive part of his improvement!
Tony Parker was trash in Charlotte. teams matter. Tony was cooked but he gave it a good try. Kemba was not the fist time a team tried.

But Sims can have a different impact and that's OK too. Mitch has a different type of physicality.

I like Sims a LOT. Super mobile and much better feel on PnR than Mitch. Hope he can figure out FTs and get a jumpshot.

Sims is okay. He dosent really know how to defend all that well but his offensive game is definitely more refined. But for now his game screens backup center on a decent team at best.

Also important to consider that FA market is growing worse and worse. You're better off trying to Rehab Randle and get him to produce closer to what he was doing last season than give up future assets just to move him. For me, you move him if there is a trade for a protected 1st round pick with no salary coming back. Portland is really the only team I see doing this.

Joe Harris + Philly pick and fillers also works
Randle for Tobias Harris also works
Bev+Vanderbilt+protected 1st

Folks, please look at Randles contract!
He makes 23mil next year. Harris makes 37 then 39 year after.
He is paid big boy money and is like 4th option on that team now.
I like him, but not for that money. Not even close.

He’s nowhere near Mitch as a defender and shot blocker

It's going to be a moot point after the Knicks shoot up to 2nd in draft and select Ivey

Knicks are cursed, and will not win anything. We never have in the lotto

Silver is going to rig the draft for the pelicans or lakers, again.

Like the Portland option as not a fan of T.Harris or others mentioned that could be returned in a trade for Randle. Think he'd actually do well there leading their young players for a season until A. Simons becomes the star and Lillard departs...
