Knicks · Randle might want to ask for a trade after the season. Whats the ideal return? (page 3)

Can't keep losing players like KP and Randle due to non on court issues. (I know, Phuch Janis and the mechanical bull he rode in on!)
Maybe its him? Is it the organization? Thibs renting too much space in his head? He got a beef RJ is not the teachers pet?Did we put him on the trade block prior to the trade deadline? Did a deal break up at the last minute? Is the deal to resurrect off season and his head is messed up by it?
Should we be concerned players don't want to come here or stay?
In time we'll find out.Two-thirds of last years’ Randle is not good enough unless RJ really really explodes. That would be fine and it can happen. The problem is that makes Randle second fiddle and he does not seem fine playing that role. If you don’t believe that then you can document his on-court behavior dating back to December. It’s not just the fans that seem to be bothering him. Otherwise, why would he do stuff such as sitting so far away from the team during time-outs on multiple occasions?
Getting those Portland picks for Randle is pretty ideal. I personally would start talking to NOLA about Zion. He’s going to cost a crap ton though so for now, that’s obviously not too realistic. Still worth taking a poke.
Anyone else notice grumpy-Randle coincided with his child being born? Maybe he's got it rough at home. Who knows? And can't underestimate the effect that could have.

Portland gets great value while Knicks move up and get an additional lottery pick.
What do you do with Bledsoe? Put him out to pasture?
Edit: I just realized he is 32. Feels like he's older than that...
Maybe I'm not the only one constantly confusing him and Eric Gordon?
Edit: F*** it, Gordon's only 33...I got nothing.
The way fans/media are going to run with this. Will be surprised if he doesn't get booed tonight.

Has Mrs Randle been at games lately?
Did his new baby come out with Red hair, blue eyes and Freckles? No Julius in that kid?
Did he tap some young thing on the road and he is staying at the hotel for now after getting caught?
We can do this all day. These guys are human. Maybe his mother has taken ill he upset?
Or there is truth to all these grumblings and he wants out.

Thibs shut it down pretty well in pregame. He was pretty adamant.
Julius's assists per game over the past 3 seasons are: 3/6/5~ he's still moving the ball.
In some ways Julius has been more of a leader than Melo was. He might be the biggest leader since Marbury.
Trading Randle would be disastrous for the team's culture and record. If the Knicks can lock up Mitchell, most of the roster is set outside of PG. What can the Knicks expect from Kemba, Rose, And Noel?
If we trade Randle it means we will rebuild so should trade Randle and Fournier to LAL for Westbrook.

Have you played team ball or been part of an organization where leadership is actually a thing?
You are a stat guy and you will need to read and watch beyond raw numbers to get a better understanding of basketball and team performance.
The bold leads me to believe there is a ton of growth and data to human interpretation that needs a ton more experience.

From what I can tell, all his assists come after he is guarded and doesn’t like the feel of his fadeaway 18 foot jump shot so he behind the back passes it to Fournier who is standing close so his man can double Randle giving Fournier just enough space to put up a 3. I’d be interested to see what percentage of his assists and Fournier’s assists are not to and from each other. It’s not good ball movement, it’s a modified ISO Ball where Fournier doesn’t move far enough away to prevent the double team. They’d be pretty good in a 2 on 2 game.

Randle has a terrible poker face on the court and can't control his grumpiness when there is adversity against him individually. To me that is not the mark of someone you want to lead especially when things do not go as planned (perhaps unless that player is an established superstar). I think he can find a home in the NBA and prosper even more on a team which already has an established superstar. For the Knicks however, the cat is already out of the bag. He became the anointed leader and Alpha over the last 2 seasons. He is also the highest paid player. Hard for me to see him taking a seat behind anyone on this roster anytime soon. IMO - as long as he is here he will remain the Alpha - I would expect he continues to get 35 mpg and be the focal point on offense while occasionally taking plays off on D. For me it is starting to feel similar to the 2013-14 season and beyond with Melo as the Alpha - with the difference that Randle is not as good as Melo.

Randle's mannerisms remind me a lot of Elfrid Payton last year all the way down to sour face and the lack of effort. Maybe Randle was more nicked up (pun intended) than he let on? If that was the case, you'd think he would've been more willing to defer.

WFAN may be full of ****, but players do not usually confirm that they requested a trade from their current team during post game interviews.

Yep, if he does want to be here, it's worrying because everything he does seems to convey he doesn't- I mean, if this is how you behave when you want to be somewhere, I dread to think how you are when you don't.
I do feel bad for his kid seeing and hearing the booing and criticism, and it must be hard as a dad knowing your son is hearing you getting blasted. At the same time I don't get why he behaves like he does (the tantrums, the moaning, etc) knowing his kid is there watching him- last season in that fictional Player Tribune article his award winning ghost writer wrote, it specifically said that seeing his son re-enact what he was doing was one of the main reasons he wanted to become a better leader etc- don't get how you can have such an epiphany and then promptly erase it completely a few months later AND double down on the crappy behaviour.
My Mom Dying made me Grumpy.
Im my loins are tight, I get grumpy.
I'd be grumpy if BING BONG stoners booed me. Not saying its right.
As for Him going forward, none of this would close the door in my opinion as a fan. I think expectations for his continued progress set him up to fail. Last year was special. This year is anything but.
Look at us, we all expected over .500 and for many we were destined to improve on 4th seeding no matter what the ESPN/media haters said. Who do we take it out on and exact BLAME.........Randle and Thibs.
