That is absolutely not true. Amare was a center at 6’10 he used Capela in his system I wouldn’t say he didn’t use centers. He need a particular type of center that can face the basket rather than post a pick and roll center.

Centers play close to the basket. 2 pointers are less valuable than 3 pointers

Two pointers are still just as valuable if you're shooting high percentages. The issue isn't on offense. It's defense. You need guys who are either quick enough to stay on the perimeter or smart enough to make the proper rotations. The bigger guys just become a liability when it comes to rotating out to the three. That's why a guy like Chet is coveted and a guy like Kofi is overlooked. Take Kanter for instance. His offense is still coveted. But if you can't execute proper drop coverage schemes or rotate out to a guy shooting 37% from 3, then it's a wrap. Opposing coaches will sacrifice size to regain the advantage with spacing and outside shooting. Also, today's quasi zone defenses make it easier to defend the post. If you're guy can't make the simple reads, at a minimum, it hurts the offense

At least he’s in the playoffs.
