Let's assume Knicks are not top 4 and every team keeps their slot designation.
I am assuming 1-5 will be some variation of Chet, Jabari, Ivey, Paolo B, and most likely Sharpe? After that it's give or take kind of up in the air?
Who are the players you'd rather have the Knicks avoid and who are your top choices that would most likely fall in the lottery 6-14 range?
My players to avoid: Ty Ty, Griffin (injury), Mark Williams.
I don't know enough about Jalen Duren and would probably add him to the Avoid list because of down stream effects on team (they'd be forced to do SOMETHING with Mitch, Noel) but maybe the team knows this and would consider Duren but I just don't know. I'd rather re-sign Mitch then wait on 2-3 year for Duren to get up to speed.
Same with Keegan - doubt he lasts and I don't know where you would get minutes for him with Randle, Obi. Can he be SF? Definitely wouldn't Avoid him but doubt he is there at 11.
Same with Johnny Davis - I don't know enough about him and with RJ, Grimes, etc.
My top guys:
Bennedict Mathurin - dynamic SG/SF. Doubt he lasts til 11 (probably a top 8 pick)?
High end role player picks :
Dyson Daniels - defender, passer. Could become a secondary PG whenever he is on court. Shooting not there but floater is very good. Very good perimeter defender who could guard 1-3?
Jeremy Sochan - will take a few years to get his offensive game but fits Thibs style of ball mover and defender. Lacks on offensive side of things. High end defensive IQ and switch-ability.
Tari Eason
Malaki Branham
I’m in high agreement with your post who to avoid
Picks Eason Daniels branham. I’d likely pick between branham and Eason
I think sochan is below these 3
I can see the Knicks trading pick and someone like Cam/other assets to move up, I can also see the Knicks maybe trading down a few slots while picking up an extra later pick.

Agree with this. I just like his potential on D and think he would be a masterful Thibs player in the Draymond Green mold who can direct defense. I haven't watched him much but that's what scouting reports have put out there.
It's still too early for me narrow guys down, but I'd go with Eason, Dyson, Murray, Mathurin, Beauchamp and Jovic. You saw a lot of surprises last draft and I think this draft will be even more chaotic. Honestly, there are five guys I wouldn't be surprised with if they were picked first.
So is our position of need point guard? Is that how the FO sees it? Tyty Washington is the PG who seems to be floating around where we pick. I have no idea.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I think Washington may be a reach at the lottery. I'd rather bring Road over.

This
If the Knicks stay the same (sign Robinson and keep Randle/Obi) I think Sochan makes the most sense. He is capable of playing multiple positions and the Knicks can sit on him for a year until they figure out the Randle/Obi situation. My second choice (and actually my first choice if Robinson is gone)is Jalen Duren. A bit of a project but his upside, imo, is MUCH higher than Robinson.
I still believe the position of need is PG but I'm ok if the Knicks plan is to go with Quickley next year...besides...this years draft is seriously lacking in that area.
My gut is telling me that the Knicks are going to try and move up and select Ivey but if that fails, I can see them going with Duren or Sochan and going PG with the 2nd pick
We need a silky smooth wing - dyson daniels is the pick.
Second round we need alondes williams
1) Mathurin
2) Williams(trade down)
3) Davis
4)Daniels
5) Sochan
If Sharpe is available with a possible trade up you do it. Tbf I’m not sure that Mathurin will be available either.
