Losing with Rooks vs losing with Vets? So you called it. Good for you. I disagree. Losing with Rooks ruins them. You also lose your locker room. The rooks get messed up and its hard to come back from. Maybe Frank and Knox had some of that by getting too much too early and not succeeding?

If you want to talk vets vs rooks, that comment is based on thibs decision to play Burks at point instead of IQ. Not moving deuce into the rotation when rose was out and working his way back. Perfect time to start IQ and bring deuce off the bench.

The move that thibs refused to do was EF to the bench. We had Burks on the bench and he’s a SG/ SF. Plus we are slim at PG so removing Kemba off the roster? Instead of benching him was weird. I don’t care about all the scenarios that probably happened in practice that we don’t know about. Those series of moves wasn’t normal and didn’t seem like it was well thought out. Does that mean he doesn’t deserve to be coy? Hell no so please don’t confuse the two sides.

Then I said during the season, ok maybe iq not ready or don’t mess with chemistry blah….blah….blah. Fine….then move up the next PG who was deuce. It’s like football….2nd string goes down and 3rd string comes in. 3rd goes down then bring in Burks to pitch. Lol. U get my point. Then I said again ok, this is thibs guy….I GET IT. But when it was clear maybe 10 or more games after the Burks experiment was failing and deuce was cooking and rose was out and iQ was either ready to start cause he was killing and deuce was playing good even in spot mins. I don’t look at his stats. I watch him play and his impact on the game. I said this as well with deuce. In the beginning that’s how he will impact games. Once he breaks out of his shell, you will see spurts of his gleague performance at the nba level.

So yes play the yoots and be better prepared for the off season. But we just have to disagree on this point. That’s fair. And I also see your point in teaching yoots to lose or the damage it can have on them. Which is probably why thibs kept the yoot rotation together because they were growing as a unit at the same time. So yes I see your side and still disagree 🤣

And nice try. But Frank and knox are not on the same level as Grimes, IQ, obi or even sims. Not to mention deuce who would lock them both up. So no…can’t compare them. And I like Frank and knox. Still do.

Yet to be proven that Deuce is better than Frank or Knox. Fact is he has done nothing. Frank and Knox fans claimed the same in 2017. Hope when he gets the chance, Deuce kills it and takes over PG position. But that is every fans hope.
Thibs has played the young players. Ie. IQ, Grimes, RJ, OBi, Sims. Grant it, not to your liking but why would he. This is not a developmental AAU team. Coaches are judged by if they win. Thibs did fine a year ago because he won. Won COY for it. He did not win this year. Which started all the criticism. Thibs, an experienced coach, knows winning is everything. Reason why he will always coach to win. He knows that no matter what, there will always be fans who think they know who should be playing more, what offense he should be running and what rotation he should have had out there at the end of games. He knows the only thing that will shut up all the critics is winning.

Imo, Kemba deserved to be benched. His +/- stats were horrible, his defense was sub par and we were losing. As much as I liked Kemba and wanted him to turn the clock back it was the right decision.
Obi was janked early but his shot looked like he should be sent to the minors early on. Only came up a bit at the end of the season. His play was just not good enough to take an All Stars minutes.
Burks won a big game early and seemed to run the offense better than IQ. If you remember IQ was struggling the first half. He did not earn the starting job over Burks. Grimes balled, Grimes got minutes. Deuce showed very little and seemed overwhelmed. Yes he looked scrappy on defense but did not do enough to deserve considerable minutes and jump two viable options in Burks and IQ. Not too many second rounders that would have been given that right.

In a Covid Protocols NBA season where 90% of NBA players missed a couple games do to Covid Protocols the Knicks head-coach (COY) Thibs action and decision-making were questionable?

Mentioning why-why were Kemba Walker taking out of the rotation having a 11-9 record?
Why was McBride DNP (SAD) .. Putting Burks as a Knicks starter, instead of the 2nd season combo Quickley .. Plus decreasing Quickley playing time minutes after D.Rose went out for surgery. Why?

The Knicks hiring an ex-NBA head coach to be Thibs assistant-coach in the offseason would give fans some 2022-23 optimism bout the Knicks coaching staff.

The Bulls head coach Thibs 6 to 8 man rotation in the regular season games were the reason D.Rose and Deng had a injury-prone career. Thibs played star players above 35 minutes each game, when the star-player were sore from to many minor injuries he picked up after playing 30 straight games. Or playing star players heavy minutes to soon after coming off a serious injury.
