From a tommy beer post:

The 2023 NBA is commonly referred to as the “double draft” because it may be the first in decades to include high school age players.

In that 2023 draft, the Knicks will have two first-round picks (their own and the Mavs’ pick) and four (4!) second-round selections.

Now look at our roster and understand we have many tradable contracts. We might not all agree based on ones love or hate for certain player but........
All this adds up. We can make trades now and those assets are sweetners. If not sweet enough, then wait.

What I want to know is can we take HS kids and roster them on the Gleague team next year? Now we got real minor league. Not just us, the whole league.
With that many picks we have a nice advantage if thats a route we go. Curious to see what our FO does with all this. Its why I expect some movement come draft night.

With the NCAA finally agreeing to let players get paid the chances increase but I think it won't be announced until a new CBA takes effect.

If I could get a lottery pick next year for #11 this year I surely would. I would be happy running back Obi, McBride, IQ, Cam, Grimes, Sims and lets not forget RJ just turned 22. We have a lot of young guys to keep developing.

https://www.nbadraft.net/nba-mock-drafts... These guys are predicting 15 high school kids in the first round

With Rose Burks and Noel expiring, RJ's new deal kicking in, and money for Randle Fournier and Mitchell (hopefully), it makes some sense to bring in a new crop of rookies to fill out the bench. Just beware of that JaMychal Green trade.
