Yes - but also, this might be a young man who wants to get paid and play in a bigger market. San Antonio is a nice city, but it's not for everyone (Like So Cal is!) and maybe he wants to live/play somewhere bigger?
And was posted above - maybe the Spurs want to maximize their cash out.
i am assuming SAS are selling high
they might be realizing that they'll be paying a guy a lot of money without a lot of hope of doing much teamwise
J Fischer saying that Hawks have been in talks to trade for him (maybe JC to Spurs)
Brunson is just flat out better. Murray is just taller.

So apparently his D is overrated and a shit floor spacer.

Spurs learned their lesson from waiting too long to trade Kawahi Leonard. They only have Murray under contract for 2 more seasons and I don’t think he’s even RFA after

Get them both. Offer picks and Fournier. Sign Brunson as a FA.
Roll out a lineup like this.
Brunson
Murray
Barrett
Randle
Mitch
Is that to many ball handlers?
Until I hear it from Woj or Shams, I'm not buying these Murray rumors. Especially for junk like old Gallo and picks!

They see Primo as that.
Spurs are facing an extension request on DM next year and feel his value is highest right now.
They are in full rebuild mode and want a chance at Wembanyama in 2023.
Lots of draft picks and playing a young team in 2022 makes that slightly more possible.

Gallo would allow Spurs to dump his salary as it only has $5M guarantee. Spurs want the picks and to keep Cap free.
We should offer our expiring contracts, 2 firsts and 2 seconds.
OR you can just sign Brunson into cap space

People were having nervous breakdowns over us trading the 11 pick - which was likely going to be a mediocre wing player - for multiple firsts can you imagine the spurs doing the same thing but with an actual superstar pg?
Don't react to rumors. React to what the real offers were and we don't know until after or its revealed.
Its not reasonable to trade Murry for Gallo and three picks UNLESS they use that cap space. Whats Lavine doing these days?
Thus, Lavine, 3 picks for Murry might be palatable for example. Just an example.
Like we used KP cap space to sign Randle which for a while was Brilliant.
Boston is sitting there with a $17M sized TPE from the Fournier trade and a GINORMOUS gap at PG and counting and recounting their first round draft picks and trying to decide how ALL IN they are about getting Dejounte Murray

The Knicks received picks that were mostly heavily protected. The Spurs are asking for lightly protected picks PLUS unprotected pick swaps.
oh?
Let's just state it right now: the Knicks have more 2023 draft picks (protected) than any other team out there.... and have as many future draft picks too outside of like OKC, HOU
See the big issue is that RJ Murray and Robinson on the floor together is very bad spacing right now. At least until we get 2+ seasons where rj is lights out.....unless RJ for Murray?

You don’t like Marcus Smart at PG? Reigning DPOY?

But we didn't tear it down and lose 60 games for 3 years to get there so I am unhappy.
