The source close to Brunson believes it is important for the Knicks to lay out a detailed plan of how they will become a contender if Brunson joins them. That means everyone being aligned — front office, coaches, players — with one mission in mind. Brunson, the source said, will create a pros-and-cons list when it comes time to make a decision.

“The Knicks will have to present a detailed plan of how to create a winning culture,” the source said. “He’s very calculated. He’ll do what he thinks is best for his long-term career. Winning is extremely important to him. He wants to be in an organization where excelling is valued, around guys in the locker room buying into the same thing he’s buying into.”

They could start by trading for Murray instead of signing Brunson.

In other words do you have a Luka like superstar. A coach that can coach both offense and defense. Last year WCF was no fluke and Mavs are building towards a championship, is it wise to give that opportunity up. The money is nice in NY but taxes are high second highest in USA. Is that enough to part ways with a contender for an unknown situation. Oh not to mention the fickle fans who can turn on a player. High pressure and high playing in NYC.

if he wants to win it all, he should probably stay in Dallas. If he isn't afraid of being the man and wants the chance to prove he can, he should sign here.

As soon as Brunson signs with Dallas he would get moved cause he would be a redundant player behind Doncic.

That’s not hard to predict.

This is going to be awkward if we trade Randle lmaooo

Last November who thought the Celtics would sweep the nets and get to the Finals?

We are not that far off

Don’t worry that’s not happening anytime soon

I don’t remember Randle having these demands prior to signing his contract.

But I LOVE IT.

From the owner to the FO to the coach and the cornerstone players (Randle / RJ). Brunson and company are placing expectations on everybody else. Asking about things that the fans want to see like: what’s the plan? What’s the strategy to win a chip? What’s the timeline? What stage are we in? Development stage? Ok for how long. There are so many questions that’s left unknown. So at least there’s additional pressure from Brunson which the media will repeat.

Is it possible to get both Brunson and Murray? Does that make us better? I’m not a fan of adding none shooters to a core of non shooters (Randle/RJ). So that’s a starting lineup of 5 players that score at the rim or in the paint. And Brunson is the only player with decent 3 pt range of Murray is added as a starter.

Without Murray, you can surround the 3 non shooters (Randle, RJ, Mitch). With Brunson and (Grimes or EF).

that and Dallas having to manage their roster - e.g., have three PGs in Luka, Dimwiddie and Brunson- he'd potentially have value as a $110M 4 year value player for $85/5.

Maybe this is smoke & cover - he can say he sees the future with NYC and it's bright, not just him getting paid.

Brunson saying this so he don't look like he got tampered.
How does Leon not know what Jalen wants when he is that tight with is pops, and his son?

Kayfabe at its best lmao

A better question is how we he fit in one of the slowest offenses in the nba featuring Randle and Mitch in the SL. Tough call. Randle is our best player and he is also responsible for slowing the pace of game and ball stopping. Randle has to go. How do you sell trading your best player and winning culture in the same sentence?

Maybe we should be looking at trading Randle to Pho for Ayton and letting Mitch walk

Yep. Basically the press release before the press release announcing he's signed with the Knicks. Also a way to soften the blow for the Dallas fans, who have already turned on him.

Is this his elaborate way of saying “get rid of Randle”?

Bye Fournier!
blkexec @ 6/29/2022 7:41 PM
Bye bye Murray. I didn’t like having 4 non shooters in the lineup anyway. But on the other hand, Murray and Young could be a dangerous back court.
