hope we can retain mitch and have our own twin towers!

Nice. Assuming he didn’t take 700 threes.

What's catching my eye is the score in those highlights. Looks like a majority of those threes were hit during a blowout/against end of bench.

Still good to have a big that can stretch, but didn't get me as pumped as I was hoping.

(I don't recall seeing Hartenstein play live, so taking everything at a very surface level)

I expect them to incorporate more of the Villanova offense. They’ve wanted to run it since they got here.

A 3pt shot is a 3pt shot. Either you can make them or not. I can understand volume of shots having an effect on his percentage but not whether his team was up 15 or down 15. His 3's are going to come from bigs sagging in the paint. Its pretty much a practice shot at that moment.

Looks like a slower shot (a few exceptions in those clips), getting mostly clean looks that I'm attributing to poor defense and guys giving up on closing out. I don't expect him to get those same looks on the regular. But it adds a dimension we don't have today. Even if he doesn't get the shot, he should still stretch the d

I'm warming up to this deal. I thought the Knicks might take a shot at Bamba given the shooting he displayed this past season, but this guy is an order of magnitude better from 3. (But then again, I have a hard time believing this guy is a legit 46% 3pt shooter on .4 attempts per game, also shooting sub-70% from the line.)

I'm assuming a deal with Mitch will get done too? If not - are we looking at Hartenstein/Sims/Obi/Taj at center?

He's definitely a step up from Noel and at a little less $$$. A very good move.

2 year deal only? Maybe this is really 3 year with team option for last?

Same here. I'm confident Mitch will be back. The Knicks will make their moves and then go over the cap to resign him at a reasonable deal.

One of these things is not like the others

Jalen Brunson - Left Handed
Evan Fournier - Right Handed
RJ Barrett - Left Handed (actually right handed but shoots lefty)
Julius Randle - Left Handed
Isaiah Hartenstein - Left Handed

Lots of lefties…

His advanced numbers really seem to jump out, second for win shares and 9th for minutes played suggest he has a lot of upside. Really solid pick up. If we can sign Robinson and bring back Taj it will be:

Brunson/ IQ
Fournier/ Grimes
Barrett/ Reddish
Randle/ Toppin
Robinson/ Hartenstein

Rose and Taj can play spot minutes and wait until after the All Star break to stabilize the rotation for the playoffs. Deuce doesn't have a clear path to minutes.

Would make sense to make a trade to consolidate the roster a bit.

Very true. I also noticed his slow shot release. However, it did not bother me because of the situations his shots will mostly come in. He is 7ft so high release point will mitigate the slow release some. Most of the shots he take will be open because of bigs sagging in the paint. So slow release won't matter much there also.

Will Thibs have to build lineups based on matchups? Instead of his patented set “you 5 guys play until your tired and then these other five guys will sub you out”.
