Will Thibs have to build lineups based on matchups? Instead of his patented set “you 5 guys play until your tired and then these other five guys will sub you out”.

Maybe craft an offense?

Well how's that for a move that's not 6 months telegraphed!

I think they end up using a Villanova offense. They’ve sort of been looking for the personnel to run it since Leon Rose took over. It’s a four out or five out offense that our new PG won national championships with.

This offense would never work with Randle in the starting lineup. I could definitely see the second unit thriving in it though.

Yeah I think we’d need a Markenen type to run a Jay Wright offense. We can still run good Pnr sets

So are we still firing Rose because he traded the 11 pick to make all this happen?

I said many times that he should be fired if Brunson didn’t sign with us. I own that. He made a couple of good signings, including Brunson, so he is safe from the axe of Allanfan right now.

At least you prefaced it with that. I did as well. That said the outrage from fans and the media night if the draft was intense. People acted like we traded Jabari Smith for cap space no we traded our next 30% from 3 and D wing player for cap space and future firsts
Is his 19 and 20 year old year, Hart played G-League and in the 20 year old year, he put up similar numbers to the ones in his limited NBA minutes, including shooting 46% from 3 on 6 shots a game (5 games). Again, not such a huge sample set that we presume, but as a trailing big man with Toppin running ahead and Hart trailing, there should be an opportunity for one of those two.
Brunson/Toppin/Hart seems like a pretty fantastic trio, together. Not sure how Barrett and Randle fit unless their 3pt percentage bump back up to 40% or we need 18 fadeaways or someone to go left and finish soft. (Ouch).

i was going to say this was a smart but not sexy signing but then those Twitter posts changed everything

I think Randle could get back to that level of shooter and we haven't seen him with a good PG while he's been in NY
Vmart@ 7/1/2022 10:27 AM
Good signing by the Knicks he can stretch the floor with his three point shot. This will allow Others to attack the rim. Should lead to more easy baskets.

Honestly…
Still not a great result.
He’s overpaid Julius whose turned into a diva.
He signed three guys he didn’t need to and had to give up a pick to do so. The kid we traded to the Pistons looks like he could be a nice player.
He wasted a first on Cam Resdish for no apparent reason.
Obi over Haliburton.
Fournier over Bullock.
So we are a 6th seed locked in with no future space. He needs to do something.
But, this is a nice signing. Even Bill Simmons and the guys at the ringer liked it.
Jalen is a nice player, you need to overpay everyone, the number doesn’t seem terrible.
