Best player available is nice but if a player does not get a window of opportunity it can be devastating.
Teams make huge investment into players.

I wonder how many players will start throwing interviews with teams they don’t want to go to.

This happens now. This was reportedly one of the reasons Lamelo's stock dropped. But this is risky for guys who aren't considered top 7.

Agreed. Unless a star is available, I think they grab a guy like DiVincenzo with the MLE, try to bring over Jokubaitis, grab a second round pick for a 2-way guy, and maybe add a higher level minimum guy like Watanabe or Bates-Diop.
