Knicks · MJ versus current players - discuss. Note, no Knicks players mentioned by Ja (page 2)

Jrodan pulled in the ratings no doubt.
but be real, todays players would be able to hand check as well.
Jordan needed a mid career sabatical. Nobody calls that soft because bulls never lost a finals.

Me thinking the way we talking about sims and hunt, jordan could not keep up with our summer league team!
Jah is crazy athlete who woud thrive then, as he is now. Jordan would be fine but he might not have the same coach, same core players for two three peats. cap rules, etc.

different eras, differnt bias.

Kyrie would give Jordan more of a headache than Morant. As an opponent, or teammate.

Only watched some of it, but I dont see a lot of handchecking.

I saw plenty of it, just didn't make a difference. Dude was scoring damn near 50 scoring 20 points a game in the NBA. JA would go down like Kenny Anderson when he tried John Starks.

My point was that the skills of the defensive stars of that era are often discounted, because of handchecking. As if they couldnt play D without it being legal.

Might have bailed out some players on D. Other players like Jordan, were some of the best defensive players of all time, regardless.

He blocked Alex English twice in one game on the clip - Alex was 6'8".

I'm sure Ja has had his quote taken out of context, but I would bet MJ today 1 on 1 against Ja.

Lmao. Got me. Guess the Twitter account posting the quote should have made it obvious.

This is why I don't engage in these type conversation anymore (try not anyway)...too many variables that need to be taken into account that people don't think about.

Jordan didn't chase superstars to play with him but he never played with scrubs either and if the league had a cap in the 90's, he may not have had so many championships and, without those championships, we may not look at him win the same light.

I took the bait for sure.
You make a good point. He also was able to get crazy money from Bull and only bulls. 30mil per year 25 years ago. Massive! He had a great “robin” in Pippin. Then a 6-8 wing that could defend 3 positions. Jordan could take the night off defensively if need be.

The variable don’t add or take away from his talent but it sure matters regarding the 6-0 finals and how that propelled his legend.

Saw this story on ESPN first. Surprised they did'nt catch it.

Jordan, eh? How about someone like Reggie Miller being a super star in today's league. Better than Steve Curry? Or perhaps just as good. I don't buy it. Iverson would have absolutely torn up today's NBA methinks

Allan Houston in todays nba is basically James Harden

Combine that with his length. Talk a little sht to him, and fuggedabouit. He could post up JA all day. Still cross him over at will.

Jordan after he came back from the gambling suspension was a very different player. He wasn’t as fast and posted up a lot more. Needed more help from the refs

Jordan up until 1993 arguably the greatest perimeter defender ever on top of top 3 scorer of all time. Ja is a great player but he’s talking trash as usual
