I actually don't think this would be terrible for the Knicks. That said, the Lakers side of the deal is too good to be true. They essentially get to trade one of the worst contracts in basketball (plus the standard THT and a future 2nd LOL) for three guys who are each more useful than Westbrook. I think the Lakers would do that deal in a millisecond. The Knicks would get to keep all of their young guys so that's great for the Knicks. I guess the question is whether Utah would actually trade DM for just picks and the ability to get out of Bojan's deal. Seems iffy to me.
(Seeing how Lebron would handle Julius might be fun, by the way.)
On edit- just realized Bojan is only owed one year. Now I'm really not sure what LA brings to the table in this deal. I sincerely believe Randle/Fournier/Rose are all tradeable. Why would Utah take on Westbrook rather than those 3?
I've seen it with Grimes included as well. Hopefully that's not the case.

Sounds like what everyone has been basically saying. That is that the deal will most likely get done as it seems the Knicks have what Jazz want. Will be a matter of who flinches first and gives in. Clear Jazz will move on and Knicks are ready and able to give an acceptable offer.
Is it unrealistic that Grimed and Quickly can generate 22-24pts off the bench. Just seems crazy to give up all these pics and then quality young players.
These trades never end up working.
Championship or not, the Lakers gave up two lottery picks, multiple swaps, Ingram, Lonzo, Hart. Not sure you make that trade again.
Same goes with the Clippers.
Harden was a better player at the time of the trade and they didn’t give up as much.

Probably just internet talk but there is a guy on FB Knicks Nation who claims he works for CBS sports and is saying the deal is done/agreed upon but the Knicks are trying to send D. Rose back to Chicago to clear cap space before the actual trade.
He claims it is for 4 #1 picks and 2 pick swaps, plus Fournier, Toppin and Grimes. Again - likely just talk but he keeps responding to others inquiring with the same information. While I'm not a fan of this deal it does sound a little better have 2 pick swaps and moving Fournier in the process. If true - sucks about Grimes and would have thought IQ would be more replaceable.
Guess time will tell and I sure hope he's wrong about Obi :(

Don’t really understand how clearing Rose makes sense. Not necessary with Fournier/Grimes and Toppin going. The numbers seem to work with that alone. After going above the cap to sign Robinson, I don’t really understand how moving Rose does anything but take Rose off our roster. For that reason, I think something is wrong/missing.

Yeah - I have no idea why Rose would have to head to Chicago if this is the actual deal. I also think moving Fournier and Grimes leaves us in a big hole with outside shooting and floor spacing. Also thought IQ was more easily replaceable due to Mitchell and Brunson handling the ball. Maybe Sims would slide into Obi's backup spot but think we will miss Grimes and Obi more then we realize.

It’s a trade proposal. I think you could make it work if we keep Rose, and force them to send their own picks instead of us giving up ours.
