If the league want to investigate the Knicks who by the way lost and got turned down by every star there is. The NBA is investigating the Knicks to see if they made contact with point guard Jalen Brunson before the free-agency period began, Yahoo! Sports reported.

The Knicks and Brunson agreed to a four-year, $104 million deal in the opening hours of free agency on June 30. The deal came after the team spent weeks freeing up the salary cap space they ultimately used to sign Brunson.
Why didn't investigate Miami, Golden State, Boston, Lakers, Houston ect.

They want to investigate why the knicks actually attracted a free agent!! LOL\
Why not investigate the others? About what? that they did not sign him?
Cube is on record if true, that he has not file a complaint. The league is looking into it independantly?

To be fair, the family ties in this situation are highly unusual and my guess is they might want to at least set a precedent about family. not to say anyone did anything wrong. I can't imagine knicks knowingly did anything wrong here. The kid did not deceive the Mavs. But.....
His agent is Leons son.
His father is a new employee of knicks.

But at then end of the day they have to have a smoking gun. Maybe Riley complained and league has to look into it. I don't know.
I'd be very suprised if knicks and Sam Rose did not have all doc and phone records to back things up.

Last year the Pelicans gave up draft picks prior to FA to just have the chance to offer Lowry a deal. Instead, Miami got him in a sign and trade about 5 minutes into the beginning of FA. The Pelicans ended up having to give a draft pick up just to sign a below average PG in Devonte Graham. That franchise was SUNK until the McCollum trade somehow saved them. If ever there was a case of tampering hurting a franchise- there it was.

The common penalty for tampering has been giving up a second round pick. I fully expect Brock Aller to resign if someone in the Knicks own organization was foolish enough to get caught tampering. That guy works his but off to accumulate those 2nd rounders, I can't imagine him allowing an unforced error on this point.

"Leon the Tamperer" lol. Knicks havent won the first pick in almost 40 years. Have we ever moved up from our projected spot? Only can remember moving down. That's tampering!

Brunson has an extended family with the Knicks, including Leon.

Wow, the Knicks had an edge for once. Lets investigate.

Miami got docked a 2nd rounder for that tamper. Did it hurt the Pels? Did they sink them? Not if they came back as they did. Trade or not.
Nobody forced them to attempt to sign Lowrey or open cap for Graham. In fact, had they done perhaps they don't make that deal for MCollum and are worse?
Miami got dinged.
Bulls got dinged for Lonzo also. They might have bought damaged goods with that knee as well.

Everyone is allowed to talk to players before free agency except the Knicks

You think this is why they traded their 2nds away?

I don't think so. A team can always be docked a future pick.

The closest picks to materialize are the most valuable. If you are going to get docked you might as well extract the most you can before the investigation even begins.
