I’m not sure what we’re gonna do there but he seems east enough to trade if needed. That being said we lack wings his size for defense especially
Reddish has call this out as BS between Twitter and Instagram. But even if Cam hasn't requested anything, it is something the FO must keep in mind as we enter the season. Man is in a contract year and wanted out of ATL to get a chance at playing time.
Moving either Fournier or Rose would open up minutes (although I think we need to hold onto Derrick for some veteran leadership, unless Julius going to assume that role...
)
He was starting to heat up last season before the injury in Sacramento. Whether it's moving Cam or another move that frees up time, there's still another shoe to drop.

Well, we all read somewhere that Thibs was not down with bringing him here so that is etched in stone cam could never ever change Thibs mind becasuse thibs never changes his mind!
Someone here did the “maybe he here so Zion can come with his buddies”. Do we really know if all three loved each other enough to do that? Zion wanted that contract publically like a fat kid wants cotten candy at the circus! In NOLA.

Zion wants the cotton candy too.

We also lack a GM willing to make room for him to get minutes.
We also lack a coach willing to play him.
With the current team as constructed, Cam is out of the rotation, unless Thibs goes to a 11 man rotation.

Really either IQ or Cam is out of the rotation. Cam can back up RJ. Kick ass, then trade him.
Trade Rose. I like Rose. But at 34 he might just have one more in the tank. LEt IQ back up Brunson.
EF and Grimes fight it out for the 2.
My expectation is one of Randle or EF are traded before start of season.

Ideally we move all 3 - Rose, Randle, and EF - for future assets. Then, you can have IQ get some minutes at 1 and 2. RJ at 2 and 3. And, Cam at 3 and 4.

I think this is correct.
I thought Thibs was honest when Cam got here; he was traded for a guy who was out of the rotation so Thibs wasn't going to change his lineups just to accommodate him. We're really only complaining about a stretch of 11 games when Cam first came where he didn't play. After he presumably had shown enough in practice that he knew the defense, Cam got regular minutes.
I'm not sure why no one talks about him potentially taking Grimes' minutes. If Rose and IQ are the bench backcourt it makes sense to have a bigger SF out there with them.

That's because Grimes arguably played better defense and shot almost double Cams % from 3 point land in 21-22 Cam shot 25%. As a rookie Grimes shot 38%. Half of that would be 19%. 6% difference from 25%. That's pretty insane.
If Cam wants a career and a payday he had better get to work.

On the 31 shots he took as a Knick. Before the trade he shot 38% on the Hawks. Cam also is a much better free throw shooter (90%) which suggests he can get better at the 3. I'm not saying Cam is better than Grimes, I'm just saying it needs to be worked out in training camp. Cam will be a RFA while the Grimes still has 3 seasons left on his rookie deal. Just from an asset management stand point it would make sense to try to build Cam's value.

The Knicks dynamic 2nd unit bench lineup having D.Rose leadership, Quickley's creativeness, and Toppins above the rim slashing, better have Cam Reddish help offense/defense in the lineup, alongside of Hart's hustle in the paint as the center.
Grimes raw talent has to wait till midseason (or injury) for playing time minutes.
Yes! the Knicks 2nd unit bench lineup having D.Rose will be better on both sides of the court than the Knicks starter lineup going on 3 seasons in a row. A new PG is not gonna stop Ball-Stoppers Randle & Barrett.
Be prepared for head coach Thibs to chop the Knicks 10 man rotation down to 9, then 7 again, when the D.Rose bench lineup keep outperforming coach Thibs starter lineup.
The Spurs and the Pacers have room to absorb salary.
Do we use McBride, a conditional first to move Fournier to open up room for Reddish? Do you get that pick back if he plays well or turns into an asset?

Or do we have our cake and eat it too? Keep the pick, keep Fournier and Deuce, let the season play out and see what happens when Cam hits restricted free agency? If a team really likes Cam, they will either have to offer an above market value contract for Cam or work with NY on a sign and trade. In that scenario we can see what Cam has to offer and possibly get a pick for facilitating a sign and trade or some other asset. Sign and trades open the market much more than free agency.
Let this thing play out. Cam will get his chances will injuries etc. he’s not the level of player to keep requesting trades. He can decide where he wants to go when free agency starts.
It’s a no win scenario.
Thibs doesn’t play the right rotations.
No Obi at the 5, Burks over IQ, overlaying Randle. Cam will be glued to the bench. Fournier will be starting.
Thibs needs to get us off to a slow start with Obi/Randle bricking at the 4.

Rose we might be able to move as he’s an expiring contract. Good luck with the other 2.
I like Cam and think he has serious potential - but if there is an opportunity to add him to a Randle and Fournier trade to reset with a Lakers first - I'd have to do that even if Cam blows up in LA. Not sure the Lakers should do that trade but it keeps resurfacing.

and buy out Westbrick? All for one pick in 7 years? Or does Lakes go Conley and Bogo, Gay?
