I think anyone hoping the Knicks trade Randle and Fournier is delusional. Randle is still the best player on the Knicks and Fournier was top 4 in the league in 3PM. Randle went along to the Mitchell/ Brunson interview with WWW. It doesn't make sense to replace them with more limited players like Cam and Obi.

If you look at his game log, he shot very well in games he played more than 20 minutes.
If you look at his shot chart, he shoots well from certain places and poorly from others. Just need to put him in a position to succeed and give him an opportunity.
The bold was my whole point of contention with Thibs last year. He went with a decision at the start of the season and went with it until injuries or covid forced him to try something new and he liked it. So many different things could have been tried to get more out of this team. Kemba maybe could have worked off the bench. Once Quick learned to play PG he could have tried him starting instead of Burks. Once Randle was known to be trash maybe try to give Obi some more time with players that will actually pass it to him on his cuts or push the ball. Obi thrives in an uptempo game. Why would you stick him with the non passing non fast breaking players and then complain about how he is playing. Give RJ more run with the young players and get him away from Randle. They both can't coexist because their shooting kills space on the court.
I think the biggest need of knicks fans before the season starts is to know what the FO solution for the Randle-obi situation. And knowing who will be the starting shooting guard. For the FO to answer what the plan is for Cam.did they really invest a 1st rounder to get Cam to warm the bench?
After what happened with the Mitchell trade it woud be nice for the knicks fans to know from the FO that its still not time to panic the knicks are still on track, the Mitchell trade would have only accelerated it.now is the time to hear from the FO so that knicks fans wont rely on the media claiming to have "inside info" about the things that have happened.
Im ok to start the season with this group as long as i know they have a plan for the PF minutes, the starting SG and on cam's playing time. If the rotation is well thought of i think this team can fight for the play in or even the 6th seed.

Your expectation is for the FO to tell you that they are going to make some moves before they actually happen?
What are you expecting?
I've never understood this point of view.
Are there Lakers fans out there wondering why Jeanie hasn't already come out and let them know Westbrook is on the move? Or is it just understood?
their biggest need is for Randle to return to form from 2 years ago. He has the talent to be all NBA
whether we keep or trade him, knicks will end up in better situation if he starts returning to that form

Fans need to be consulted so we can dial in our expectations and tend to our tender emotions?
There are lots of things that go in these chats. Like when 7 year olds start making up shit to each other. The adult comes in the room and corrects them.
I expected we learn from each other. Not true. Often they go back to making shit up again.
Facts are few regarding negotiations regarding Leon and Danny. Then we learn neither was talking, it was Zannik and Rosas. NO doubt leon was in the background as was danny and all the others.
Who was made, who was not, etc. Conjecture at best.
The Bobby Marks stuff on Lowe was a good take. Just listned to the whole thing. He covered both sides of do’s and don’ts regarding the knicks and boiled down to that he was good with knicks walking away and media/fans should be too. He also warned that DM is really really good at very hard skills. Like the pull up three! He was not bugged out by the size thing. And yes he knows Cavs made a great deal for them is not the same as kNicks scenario. Also that the line in the sand might have been Grimes, and……WE countered with a 3rd picks and Quickly but top 5 protected.
All the while Maybe, just maybe Presti calls him up and tells him he could have SGA for. This makes Leon more bold knowing he has a plan b.
I like DM. Its one thing to have DM, Bruns and RJ. And another to not have RJ.
SGA or other deals might be wishful thinking to this fan. Maybe im making shit up to feel better too? LOL!!!!
Hire asap an unemployed NBA ex-head coach to be Thibs top assistant .. I miss coach Woodson.
The Sports Scout Leon Rose won't last long in MSG, after having 2-bum developing offseason.
Randle's ball handle is not as good as Luka's so Brunson will do his best all season to get ball movement out of Randle.
As for the Knicks starter lineup (Brunson, Fournier, Barrett, Randle, MitchRob), only expect defense from center MitchRob, the rest of the four players are poor weak defenders going down the stretch of games.
I really do miss SF Bullocks hustle defense in the starter lineup and going down the stretch of games for the win.
Will Brunson be able to get Randle/Barrett/and Fournier on the same-page on offense? If not
After 10 or 20 games the majority of Knicks fans will want ....
One or two players in the Knicks starter lineup to be traded for the next team starter player before the February deadline.
And coach Thibs will mess up the chemistry in the 2nd unit bench lineup by putting one or two bench players in the starter lineup.
I do see a dynamic Knicks winning lineup from (player/coach) D.Rose 2nd unit bench lineup of Quickley, Cam, Toppin, and Hart .... At the start of the preseason games !!!

I understand wanting to move Randle because Obi is blocked, but we don’t need to move Fournier. Grimes can still start and Fournier can play more as a backup wing/ SF. He’s still our best shooter and can cook second units and win us some games. I’ll be honest, I like Fournier off the bench at SF better than Reddish. If you move Randle, Toppin becomes the PF and Reddish becomes the backup PF. So that’s the only player who is blocking those opportunities. Fournier isn’t blocking anyone. He’s a valuable shooter off the bench in an ideal situation.
C Mitch/ Hart
PF Toppin/ Reddish
SF Barrett/ Fournier
SG Grimes/ IQ
PG Brunson/ Rose
This is what most people should want from a player development perspective. Randle won’t be moved though anytime soon. The best version of this team still likely involves him when he’s at his best.
Yeah, I can see these line-up's being effective (Especially the 2nd unit). Still wish we had Taj because he provided us PF and Center coverage and was effective in spot minutes.
gradyandrew wrote:https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/julius-...Great site Ewing! Randle is much more efficient from the wing We want Fournier and RJ in those corners where they can do more damage.
He really isn't efficent anywhere. That chart is pretty bad
