Problem with our base. Would not trade a third year player that has shown issues shooting for a three time All Star? We live to die with unrealistic expectations of our yoot.

It’s a team sport. The idea is to pair DM with RJ. Not trade RJ, assets and multiple first round picks for DM. Btw, Mitchell has gone as far in the playoffs as RJ - one and done

You just said: "its a team sport". So why do you point to players individual playoff appearances as if its not.
Your Daftness never fails to cease.

No I was simply pointing out how the media acts like Donovan Mitchell is better than Michael Jordan yet he hasn’t even won a playoff series and he has been on good teams. I guess basic facts once again upset your snowflakiness

DM is a 3 x all star and has some good appearences. At the same time its widely written the fact the Jazz have gone as far as they can go and rebuilding and he is mostly considered a top 20-25 player.
Thus, your shoehorning your take.
Im sorry, “Snowflakiness”? Are we degrading to child like name calling when facts fail to prove your point?

Mitchell and the Jazz advanced to the 2nd round in 2018 and 2021. This stuff is not difficult to look up

They also recently had the best regular season record. now if your trying to prove a point you dismiss this. Sure its a disappointment to not succeed further but its not nothing.

Once we signed Brunson, it made little sense to gut the team for Mitchell unless we were prepared to trade Brunson. Now perhaps we could have traded for Mitchell and traded Bruson at the deadline for SGA and a pick. A backcourt of SGA and Mitchell would have been great but unfortunately the timing was not right to make all of that work and a Brunson/Mitchell backcourt was a defensive disaster waiting to happen. Plus, I think Grimes will become a 20+ scorer for us. We sent a strong message that we are not going to be fleeced in trade deals.

Ainge wasn’t open to leaving the Knicks enough picks to do a Brunson plus pick deal for SGA. That was the reason the trade kept falling through. Ainge wanted the majority of the Knicks assets until 2029

After collapsing in the previous offseason ....
The Knicks FO plan for the offseason were to sign a decent starter FA PG (Brunson), and to trade a bunch of draft-picks and players for any all-star player in the 2022 offseason.
The Knicks PG spot was not the only position that was weak throughout the Knicks previous season.
And the Knicks SG position was the Knicks strongest position last season.
Three of the Knicks starters were SG .... Burks, Fournier, Barrett.
Did the Knicks really need a 6.1 SG on the roster ???????

In June/July teams traded for a need in their rotation ....
The Atlanta Hawks FO traded for another star PG (Dejounte Murray) to mix alongside star combo-guard Trae Young.
And Philly 76ers FO pulled off a great scheme to get the Miami Heats multi-position player PJ Tucker
And Dallas Mavs FO traded for the Rockets Bigman Christian Wood
And the Blazers FO traded for Detroit Pistons forward Jerami Grant

He’s not worth what we offered which is a lot. I’m glad they didn’t make the trade

Now let’s figure out a way to dump Randle

The East is tougher this season. Absolutely

Kemet has RJ as a SG. PhilC wants to play him at PF.
Question: Who plays the 3? Likely RJ.
WHo plays the two? EF or grimes.
Who backs up RJ? For now, likely Cam.
Can't say where IQ fits in here but perhaps Backs up Brunson.
Ooops, DRose puts his hand up. Wants to be counted.

All those teams mentioned were better than knicks regardless of their moves.
They got better. We did a bit also. With a yoothier roster internal growth is not "off season" moves.
Miami lost PJ tucker. They still better than us.
ATL and Clev did things that made sense for them.

As the great philC so eloquently pontificates: "The East is tougher this season. Absolutely"

Kemet wants to trade RJ straight up for Bullock.....so there's that. The offseason is becoming inane.

Just my opinion:

1 will be Brunson / Rose
2 will be EF / IQ
3 will be RJ / Grimes
4 will be JR / Obi
5 will be Mitch / I-Hart

Rose will be on a minutes limit so when needed - IQ will slide to the back-up 1
Simms will fill-in at the 4 & 5 when needed
Cam will be on call for the 3 as needed
Deuce will be on-call for 1 & 2 as needed

Hunt & Keels will be travelling back and forth on the Westchester express unless needed.

Reasonable take. I would assume Cam gets traded in the above scenario

Yea.......as a fan I want to see more of what Cam can do, but he seems to be the odd man out. Guess we'll have to wait and see what Thibs does.

We still need a trade to thin the heard and enrich. Even Cam deserves an opportunity. Not like he has been far off the mark.
Keels and Simms lot on the team is set.
Cam seems the odd guy out for now. Someone will get injured. Things change and fast.
As much as we all dig Drose, if he is not in our plans beyond this year I'd understand if he is moved. Fanboy of me wants him to finish in Chicago and with Lonzo knee in question it could be a good gig for him.
Coby white in return? Salaries don't work. Thats as far as I go.
Duece until proven otherwise or injury opens opportunity is sitting.
