The free throw shooting makes that unlikely. And that still prevents him from being a factor in the 4th quarter of a close game much of the time. I still think given either Randle or Toppin is a fixture at PF, Mitch isn’t the ideal fit in the starting lineup.

If Mitch shows he can reliably hit a jumper, improving his free throw shooting as well, doesnt seem like a stretch.

Robinson has gotten worse from the free throw line each year in the league and has shot under 50% the last 2 seasons. The shooting doesn’t look like it’s coming around.

Brunson will likely do a better job of consistently setting Mitch up for the finish, than any prior starter. He will be getting to the line more. More time to improve. That doesnt include RJ, Quick, Rose, who all can find Mitch cutting to the rim.
We dont re-sign draft picks often. Dont see the weaknesses in his game outweighing his strengths. A trade for an elite player, thats another story. We dont need Mitch to be a jack of all trades to move the needle.

The days of 1-2 player drafts are over. You can get good to great players all over the first round and even second round
Mitchell we get roasted for not drafting yet 11 other nba teams also took a pass on him in the draft. Giannis was drafted 15th overall. Curry was drafted 8th — we were one pick away from getting him without even a trade up
