The last big to have a good off-season with tangible results was.....hmmm, I'd have to say Amare when he came back with some nice post moves after having spent that one summer under Hakeem's tutelage.( No, Mitchell Robinson stopping fouling doesn't count, it's like beating your chest and saying " I feed my kids"- shut up, you are supposed to) Later the Rocket management disallowed Hakeem to work with players outside of their organization. So to answer your question is it seems like it's both if we were to make a judgement based on results

So if not Hakeem there is no way for big men to improve? I recall Amare doing his camp and the publicity behind it.
He had some nice low post moves after, then he got hurt and was bathing in red wine. LOL......
My point is if there is no Youtube of player doing something we to assume its not happening?

Hakeem is not the only solution, I am sure. I am only referring to the lack of big man development on the Knicks in general over the years. Mitchell Robinson has just continued the trend, nothing more.YouTube videos aside. I actually don't trust those.

We really did not have many very good development opportunities and the big man role has changed over time as well.
Mitch is very athletic yet is stiff in many ways. He has length and good nose for the ball and timeing. Yes he can jump! Hakeem and Amere had more. But 24 they had refined their offense game and kept the super quickness. Not sure Mitch will ever have that but thats OK.

I get where your coming from but don’t think any pro player with a long term contract or on a rookie one is lacking coaching or the opportunity to get it. some guys just have it or not. Not to say they don’ t work hard or try. They just dont’ have the body.
KP has the size but lacks power and durabilty but a very fluid natural movement especially on offense.

I don't agree with calling Berman a shill. Replace the "ll" with a "t" and that will be more like it.

I only remember AmAre doing a Hakeem move once. Going by his % of FG by distance, his first season in NY was a career high for midrange shots. Let's not rewrite history and act like anything ever came out of it.

Im thinking he did it after his first year. There were 5 seasons with him.
Im impressed if you recall of his 5 years all his moves of all his games and can pull out the ones specifically from his week with Hakeem.
On other things, remember “Pete Newell Big Man Camps”?
