Seeing how Randle and Barrett are working with Brunson early gives me a lot of hope. Fact is, with Barrett’s 3 looking solid, that really frees up the roster a bit.

Brunson
Fournier
Barrett
Randle
Robinson

I’d like to see how Fournier’s defense improved over the summer. I hope he worked on his matador D. If he plays 2 ways this year, they are columbine the ladder in my view.

Reddish appears to be failing in the opportunities he has. I still have high hopes for him, but he needs to smooth out his game. But he is making it easier on Thibs to rotate him out

Randle/Toppin is going to be a minutes argument all season. I like new attitude Randle and am willing to give a fresh slate. Hoping his 3 works 35+% of the time. Already seeing more passing from him.

Mitch Rob is playing legit defense. See him poking steals and making blocks. Hope they run some plays for him.

Guessing the Rose/IQ/McBride line is an inside look at what will be the Rose/IQ/Grimes/Toppin/Hart line.

Reddish/McBride/Sims is pretty good depth.

No real surprises on what I think the final roster ends up at. Maybe a bit of a battle between Jalen Harris and Ryan Ariadacono for that last spot. Harris is getting more minutes right now, but he’s also the less known quantity. I’m putting down Harris based on size and fit alone.

Brunson/Rose/McBride
Fournier/IQ/Harris
Barrett/Grimes/Svi
Randle/Toppin/Reddish
Robinson/Hart/Sims

Hunt/Keels 2Way

Hopefully this is transfers to the regular season. Depth is our one advantage over other teams. I think we should use it. We should never have to worry about the starters being tired at the end of the game.

thibs was verbally happy with EF defense 2nd half of last year. When he as not, Grimes played and closed if EF could not get it done on both ends. It need not be absolute one way or the other. I see it as a process. EF’s contract and age vs. Grime, or the plethora of picks that an even better 2 can be had at some point. Until then, I hope EF kicks ass and drives the bar higher.
EF is not our long term future but a bridge of sorts. He has been durable, plays hard most of the time and knows his role. I don’t expect him to be much of a defensive demon. He should be in good shape after a summer of eurobasket and if coachable and a year of Thibs be better and instinctive with his defense.
Grimes likely has been working his ass off and I hope is not worn down because of it. Its a long season. He is prime to take advantage of role and opportunity to expand on it. Barring a trade there could be a lot of new rookies comeing thru the next few years.

Holy crap look at this pass from Hart during the open practice. I had to post a URL because the youtube thing does not work on youtube clips yet.

During the second half of our third preseason game against the Pacers iHart was our primary playmaker. The ball went through him on most possessions and he was surprisingly adept at finding a cutter to the rim. To be more specific he got the ball to Deuce for an easy layup. That play they ran once. The rest of the times he just handed the ball off. Thibs needs to take advantage of iHart's playmaking in order to better utilize him on the O.

Yeah, there are number of players who could benefit once they get used to the idea of moving without the ball.

This should not surprise anyone any more. Dude can pass and I think that's the goal: Hart will be an offensive passing option.

Not surprised no one knew Gerald Wilkins, but I'd think most of them would "Hands down, man down! Mama there goes that man!"

I was leaning Svi, but Arch is OK.

I agree, Svi was the best option but you know this is for Brunson. If keeping this guy keeps the best PG we have had in a long time happy then it's worth it.
