Knicks · Around the NBA 2022-23 (page 13)

KP got 30 and 9 in a win over the Sixers. Camby couldnt stay healthy early on in his career. Then he went through a relatively injury free stretch, where he was having some 20/20 games. Might happen to KP, goes on a run where he stays injury free. If it happens this season, Wiz will be another team no wants to face in the early rounds.
Clean @ 11/2/2022 11:16 PM
KP was always good at the start of the season. Lets check in mid to late season.

NBA is an embarrassment. NBA p[layers, who asked for justice after George Floyd killing, sits by and lets Kyrie get away with repeating AlexJones shit and deranged book that supports holocaust denying is an outrage.
David Stern would have been all over his ass. Nets can’t sent Kyrie home because they are afraid what comes out of his mouth.
Kyrie thinks he is smarter than most and yet is gullible to conspiracy theories and never backs down.
To even breath anything “Alex Jones” is utterly outrageous! Fuck Joe Tsai for not having a spine!

Nets have less than 6,000 season ticket holders. He had issues before, now its worse.

Prepandemic and before harden’s hamstring left nets were on track to accomplish what they set out to do. But Kyrie is Kyrie and Harden did not take care of himself then. They came close.

Finanically Tsai is looking at freaking disaster. I admire the gumption to sign Durant, Try Kyrie and let them run the place. KD was attracted to the culture of the franchise but he killed it. I think any team would have done the same. Especially the knicks.
We side stepped this one for a change.

I do have empathy for Adam Silver. He is facing a dilemma of censure of a player who does have a right to speak his mind but clearly cannot contain himself. Kyrie is entitled to speak his mind but when it conflicts with the greater good its an issue. Im sure many players black or white have views and values not popular with societal norms. But they kept it more private.

He is hurting the NBA brand and injury to his teams image and financially. NBA gets many things right and has been the more progressive leagues. This is a difficult one.

Much respect Nalod but....why is Kyrie being vilified for tweeting a movie that he saw ON AMAZON?? Why aren't people going after Amazon and Jeff Bezos? The movie is still on the site. Aren't they promoting it as well?

Did anyone actually see the tweet or know what the movie was about and why it's considered antisemitic?...and now he was bullied into donating 500K?!?!

Irving has said some questionable things in his career but this one is utter bullsh!t and is a damn witch hunt caused by the media.

I agree with you on Bezos. In fact, if you have the time, take a deep dive into Amazon prime. They've got some out there sh!t available. Disagree with you on Kyrie. What he did was irresponsible in a number of ways. He's influential and there's a lot of gullible kids out there who'll take this BS for face value. Speech is free, but it also carries consequences. $500,000 should be the ba4e minimum. Myer Leonard was forced out the league for less.

what?!

Leonard actually used an antisemitic slur!! Kyrie did no such thing...how is this the same????

Listen, at the end of the day we all *supposedly* have a right to religious freedom. Kyrie Irving (he hasn't come out and said it) seems to be following the black Hebrew Israelites and although he has been respectful, and careful, with his words that group is not particularly known to be.

All Kyrie did was tweet a movie that's easily available in a very public and famous platform...and since then he has said there was no ill intent towards. He shouldn't have to apologize because he didn't do anything wrong. I mean...if he needs to apologize than Jeff Bezos should be made to apologize too. Comparing this, and Irving, to Leonard is not right and isn't fair

Leonard used a slur, but he at least apologized. Kyrie used his platform to throw his weight behind a hate group and when given a chance to apologize, refused. Sorry that's worse. You realize the danger Kyrie's "truth" has the potential of causing an entire group of people? Anyhow no one is blocking Kyrie's right to free speech. They're just making him face up to consequences. I have to right to spew whatever crap in whoevers face at the local Starbucks. If I get clocked, should I be able to cry and complain?

The group whose film Kyrie promoted not only freely sells its book on Amazon, but could be seen on public access TV almost any week. At least it was the case 20 years ago. I found them too outlandish to be taken seriously. So, not exactly sure why all the fuss now all of a sudden when it is Kyrie involved? Given Kyrie's record of beliefs, is anyone still taking him seriously?

I also thought that in America you are not supposed to get clocked for spewing crap (unless it incites panic or violence). Is it not what the 1st Amendment is all about?
