Click here to view the TweetBefore we start executing the FO, perhaps it was a Cam, EF, Rose for Harris thing and Grimes comes off the bench. Not saying thats my preference but knicks were not going anywhere but down at that moment.
Philly was struggling also and lacks depth. Both teams got hot. They talked. No harm was done.
Would still be a bad move considering his fit. Where do you play him? Who does he defend? You really want to see a SL with Harris and RJ on the opposing teams top wings?

LOL. I'm learning Python, and using NBA data to make it interesting.
For geeks, you can scrape the data from a web page into a Pandas DataFrame.
From there, you can call .to_html() to convert to an HTML table. Or in this case, I convert the data to monospace text which is friendlier to UK posts.
Then you need the UK secret sauce which is using the [ code ][ /code ] tags when posting.
I think I'd pass. Unless it's a dirt cheap deal like Fournier and Rose with maybe one pick attached (not our own). But even then I still might pass. Too much drama.
SergioNYK wrote:Tobias Harris is a weird fit on the court and financially. He's too expensive to bring off the bench so you either have to swap him for either Randle or RJ or bring one of those three off the bench. Starting all of them together and bring Grimes off the bench spells disaster imo. I guess it can work if you bring Harris or RJ off the bench as we need a scorer in that second unit but that's tricky. Most players look at that Ginobili role off the bench as a demotion.I think I'd pass. Unless it's a dirt cheap deal like Fournier and Rose with maybe one pick attached (not our own). But even then I still might pass. Too much drama.
Your not wrong in many aspects. Especially financially. Im not sure how much a disaster it becomes. RJ is a handful now at the sf. It could allow Grimes more time with second unit and more touches there. This is not permanent, its could help develop grimes more. Not seeing his body is ready for starter minutes YET.
Its not who starts, its who finishes. Grimes is coming along great. Harris makes us really big. He can play the 4. Randle will get hurt at some point. They all do. Even RJ.
Tobias contract is insane, it has one more year after this one. Same as EF, Same as Drose. Add in Reddish and you there.
Its my belief one of Toppin or IQ are traded mid season. Not saying this is me promoting it.
As for Harris, Im not selling it. Im just trying to understand it. Remember the context that it was before knicks got their shit together. Harris contract clears out three players not in our rotation and is a placeholder until more draft picks are in and substantial if that even is a thing going forward.
Grimes has fit in wonderfully but if we do that deal you don't get that hindsight. If he came off the bench and played we'd be happy if team was winning regardless!
Again, just trying to understand the trade, the timing/context of the moment it would have been discussed.
Would it have worked? Who knows. the knicks were in "Disaster" already at that time! We can agree on that. As was Philly.
No mention of what was offered so I am only speculating that Thibs was thinking of pulling EF and Cam off the rotation before he did it.

I took a short 2 month Python for data analysis online course during the quarantines, but have forgotten everything by now.

At work I have access to content on Udemy.com. They have a couple of really good courses. Jose Portillo is the guy to look for. Perfect pacing, easy to listen to.
Google, Stack Overflow, etc.
And YouTube. Good channel here to learn in bite size chunks… https://www.YouTube.com/neuralnine

And I’ve been using Jupyter Notebook, which I really dig.

I always preferred Vanessa Angel. But sadly, no.

Just looked up before and after pics. I think Kelly had a much higher ceiling, but a way lower floor. Plus, she married Steven Seagal. There's gotta be some weird mental issues going on with that, right?

Expand the deal to include Embiid and I'd have no problem with it, lol.
But seriously, I do wonder how well we'd be able to field an offer for Embiid if he ever got disgruntled. I'd like to think that the Donovan Mitchell package (all the picks and youth) would get us pretty close but the Morey-factor complicates things IMO. That aside, I do like the idea of using Tobias Harris as a 6th man behind Barrett and Randle.

The problem with a disgruntled Embiid is that you'd be competing against 50% of the league. I'd expect OKC and Toronto to jump in as well.

I see TOR being serious contenders but not OKC. As much as Embiid is locked into a relatively long-term deal, players generally get to go to where they want. As talented as OKC is, I don't see him wanting to be there but I get your overall point. We have a gang of picks but I'm not sure that means much to someone like Morey. I don't think Embiid is long for Philly though, even with this recent win-streak.

The best part is that the Luka game is becoming an after thought. That Bulls meltdown was as bad, maybe even worse, than ours.
