Is it possible that the new owner is worse than Sarver. 🤣

Tonight 43 for him. Will be interesting to see how dust settles for Nets.

Holy shit. What do they need KD for?

KnickDanger wrote:I don’t hate the Nets. As a matter of fact, they were probably my (distant) second favorite team going back to the Buck Williams days. Wasn’t crazy about the Garnett/Pierce version but the Kenny Atkinson coached overachievers in their wake after bankrupting assets were easy to like. But when it became the “cool” destination for ring chasing super friends well that was that. But especially when KD and his bobos forced out Atkinson to replace him with their sock puppet - well their failures bring me more NBA pleasure other than Knick success.

I have rooted for the nets in the past as I am originally from Jersey. Early 90’s nets with Petrovic, Coleman, Mookie Blaylock and Kenny were a good and likable team that literally had no fans so rooting for them actually felt cool. Early 2000’s Nets were fun to watch. Knicks were headed absolutely nowhere at that time during the Layden/Isiah years where it was one obviously stupid cap hell inducing move after another so Kidd/KMart/RJ were the only show in town and it felt rebellious to root for them because NY Sports radio refused to acknowledge they even existed because they might distract from endless Mets talk

This current team is so unlikable and epitomizes everything wrong with today’s nba. Durant is a snowflake who strung us along for 2 years I knew he was never coming here. Kyrie is and always will be a narcissistic douche.

You take like a jilted ex lover. "strung us along....." Must have been awful!
Is it the franchise or the players?
We have learned Kenny Atkinson was all about himself and he could not coach that team. He and Sean Marks did a great job post Pierce/Garnett but kind of like when Dave Blast was to coach a rebuild in Cleveland but then Lebron came back. Different type of team. Blast still coached them to finals, but the fit was not there.
No doubt the perfect shit storm was the Brooklyn nets the last few years. Many elements to it. Quite a story.
Vaughn has done a good job and when they had both on the court they were cooking. Maybe he was seen as Joe Torre type. Guys that are better than their record. Vaughn had a rough stretch in Orlando. Not all of it was on him.

As for Kyrie, the list of all star players he has been paired with is quite impressive.
Durant does not bother me because like him or not he is genuine and a basketball guy first. His career has been thru the evolution of social media and it has not always been pretty for him. Jordan never had it. Lebron handled it far better. Same for Curry.
It seems that Harden was no about the circus that Kyrie bought to the team. Kyrie brings chaos. ON the court and in the locker room players really like him.
He is an enigma!

Yeah it’s not like Durant and his life coach who’s a Knicks fan didn’t lead on the Knicks FO for 2 years. How dare I cite basic facts

Did I say it wasn’t? I said you are acting like a soft emotionally damaged person.

Nalod @ 2/8/2023 7:23 AM
Read Isiah is not part of Suns management via statement put out by team.

As for Lebron? Yes, Lebron did not play 4 years of college. He did break Kareems record with 150 less games played. About two seasons earlier. Games are games.
Many ways to look at things. Kareem played on star studded showtime last few years that helped.
Lebron is still going strong at age 38. So was Kareem.
GOATS are GOATS and we have preferences. Many don’t like Lebron. Fact is many hated Kareem due to his religion and public relations issues. He was very aloof. Lebron is arrogant. Jordan was sociopath.
PED’s? GOATS are genetically gifted. They are of another breed of human and its natural to accuse them.

“Back in the day it was harder”. Kareem had racism, commercial travel, fewer teams, no three point line etc. he did play in an era were pace was up and there was a lot of scoring. Lebron assists as playmaker is impressive.

Fair to say both had advantages and outstanding individual achievements. Records are meant to be broken.
Kareem was magnificent player to watch. He is revered but he was a dick with his teammates for most of his career. His social stances and eloquent writings are from a man who has experienced a very different life that Jordan and Lebron. He evolved over many years to forge his reputation. By contrast Lebron is still a very young man.

Lebrons career is still going and one has to look at him objectively as one who has matured off the court and his contributions to Akron and his social stance. Not all agree with him. Kareem was far more polarizing as a young muslim facing hostile pushback when he went public with it. He was also used by some radical high profile nation of islam members that did not represent his values.

Is one greater than another? Why not just enjoy and respect their feats for what they were. Same for Russell and Jordan. All unique in their own way as are there accomplishments.

You mean who needs Kyrie.

I was one of the ones screaming in the UK draft night thread for the Knicks to take him. Looked like a bad idea the last couple of years and extremely happy with my favorite player, Grimes but the kid has had a couple of eyebrow raising games. Also remember when he had that big game against us last year. Kid can score.

Is it possible that the new owner is worse than Sarver. 🤣

Every female staffer at the Sun's FO raced out to buy a brand new wardrobe when they heard the rumor. A wardrobe which included no skirts, short or tight tops and consisted mostly of baggy sweatpants and sweatshirts.

I don't think that would help. Anucha Browne Sanders pretty much dressed like someone's grandma and Zeke still couldn't help himself.

They are big. She can palm a basketball with those things. 🤣 Might need to wear gloves.

Mat Ishbia will not be giving former New York Knicks president of basketball operations Isiah Thomas a role in the Suns’ front office, a spokesperson for Ishbia confirmed to Arizona Sports’ Kellan Olson on Tuesday.

This follows a report from TNT’s Chris Haynes that stated Ishbia intended to give Thomas a prominent role in Phoenix.

Thomas, a Hall of Fame point guard in his playing days, has been working as an analyst for NBA TV. From 2003-08, Thomas helped run the Knicks, an era filled with plenty of basketball decisions that drew criticism, off-court drama and a lawsuit.

If this is true KD is the level of talent you go big for. I would trade most of our picks and RJ for KD. The Nets would never trade him to us but you have to try anyway.
Alpha1971 @ 2/8/2023 12:54 PM
What's going on with Ja Morant ?
Nalod @ 2/8/2023 12:55 PM
Durant is 34, has 3 more years under contract that goes to 53mil the last year.
Will he sustain and stay healthy?
Will we have enough around him to truly contend?
RJ contract is 10mil this year. You need that, Rose, and EF and you get there really close.
The money is not the issue. The picks added are not the issue. To me its a two year window with him at his age.
Are we winning a chop with Randle-JB-Durant as a core?

Minnesota is desperate, butI like this deal for them. Conley has another year left on his contract, but I think they can squeeze some decent basketball out of him. Not a long-term solution by any stretch, but it's clear they're done with Russell. Hate this deal for the Lakers and am perplexed as to how Ainge could get a first-round pick out of Conley. These desperate teams keep enabling him.

Any 3 team deal is always a long shot. A 3 team deal involving Ainge has less than zero chance of success. Although, if Westbrook gets bought out I have to wonder if there would be mutual interest with NY

it would make more sense if i thought the Minny players would actually listen to and learn from a quality player like Conley. That said, i think they have a bunch of cuckoo birds and Conley will be wasted there
