WOW! Someone is going to be very lucky to get this guy!

Philc1 @ 10/5/2022 7:09 AM
Will look good in a bulls jersey
EwingsGlass @ 10/5/2022 7:14 AM
Yeah, but can he lead a team of looney tunes to beat alien invaders that have come to steal other NBA players powers? Cause if not, I’m not watching.
SergioNYK @ 10/5/2022 9:38 AM
Only thing that can stop this kid from a HOF career are health and bad habits.
Knixkik @ 10/5/2022 9:41 AM
Both he and scoot look like surefire superstars.
blkexec @ 10/5/2022 11:48 AM
He looks like a 2K23 player.

Someone who created KP and realized they should've made a few tweeks.

The results is this dude. He will be a problem for centers like Mitch (outside the paint).

In the Paint, Mitch will treat him like he did Jalen Ivey yesterday, during our first preseason game of 2022.

have you not watched what happened when Mitch comes out to guard? His only chance vs. Mitch on the wing is to put the ball on the floor. Mitch has a little ways to go but he's shown Tyson Chandler qualities guarding guys out there. Have you not seen all the videos of Mitch blocking 3s?

Since you arent seeing it here's something you can read

Let's tank so we can get the #4 pick.

If we tank, we will get the next pick outside of however many prospects are considered “can’t miss”.

That was 2019 Mitch. 2020 Mitch decided to add weight.

Lets hope 2022 Mitch is not only stronger but as agile as 2019. If so, we are absolutely loaded at center. Hart and especially Sims can guard a big dude like this or KP. Tall centers with guard like crossovers / jumpers.

But this dude definitely has a bright future (baring any injuries).

As long as Wembanyama doesn't end up in Utah! F*ck Ainge!

The list of broken unicorns is longer than the bondafide game changers that survived.
Issue becomes that not of talent and size but on genetic construction and the biomechanics used to deliver output.
When a young player dominates his peers then runs into “men”. Oden broke. Sampson Broke. KP broke. Sam Bowie Broke. Yao Ming Broke. Walton at least got MVP and a chip in prime, then he broke. Holdgrem Broke.

Freaks who did not: Kareem and Shaq. Hakeem developed late. Sabonis and Wilt evolved from athletic anomalies to fundamental beasts but did not retain the freak advantage. Webenyama looks so smooth and fluid. Maybe he is the one? The “neo” of a generation?

That Hakeem started late really might have helped his durabilty thru a career. Ewing also. Core strength gained and not over committed at early age.

There are limits to the human body. The size of tendons on long bodies are not wider to compensate for the length. Big thick guys are not fluid and thus not outstanding parameter players. Im not a biomechanics expert or played one on tv but read up a few years ago about why big guys break.

It will happen as it does but so often. There will be another unicorn.

Embiid is a good one and a rare study. Came into the league at age 20 after one season at Kansas.
They win a chip. No, finished ranked 16th. Did not transcend the game.

He has been in the league 8 years. Game wise, has played in 328 games which is actually exactly half of the 658 games that he could have been. By that standard he most certainly is a broken Unicorn.
But he did not come in on the hype machine dialed up to 11 did he? Thus was not really a unicorn.
But he he just finished his best season and actually played 68 games.

But is he a unicorn? He has been called out for being lazy and not taking care of his body. Im not saying he has failed at any level. He is a top 5 player and perhaps exceeded expectations. Labeled a “Unicorn” is totally subjective and perhaps more evidence that the game be patient with younger tall players and let the bodies mature providing some long term benefits. He was destined to be the no. 1 overall pick if not for his back, but like ewing he was not hyped as the next evolution of man to play the game.

Good discussion and Embiid is damn good.
JOKIC is the anti Unicorn but he has done more to change the position as any. Has a handle, can shoot and sees the court with a 3rd eye. Fundamentally superior he lacks the physical dominance early in his career.

The time is running out on Bol Bol but he was hyped big time (Briggs gave him love) and he too fell as he got hurt his lone season in college. 4 years now he still remains in the game due to his height but clearly he was physically was tall and could shoot but little else to carry him.

Of course, we're going to be late to the party
Swishfm3 @ 10/5/2022 5:07 PM
I'm sure he'll brake a bone in his foot after he's drafted
franco12 @ 10/6/2022 12:12 AM
He looks like a 7 foot version of stephon curry- his footwork his motion- super smooth.

Exactly. We always are one pick away from a Steph or Ja Morant. And now that a true superstar will be available, we get just good enough to make the playoffs and miss out on the lottery all together.

It's a broken record for old or new school fans. We've seen this movie before. It's called INSANITY

brade07 @ 10/6/2022 5:59 AM
I was certain this was going to be about McBride's 6 steals
