That wound of mine has almost healed.

On the other hand, if Cam works out.. he is that lottery pick in practical effect.

Agreed. Similar concepts of player. Eason has the higher motor and bigger hands. Hoping Cam continues to get good opportunities.

Lets see if Cam gets used to defend LaMelo Ball in Charlotte or other big and explosive points in the future.

I don’t think he has the foot speed. Could be wrong, but he seems to have a shifty downhill speed, but not an amazing first step.

The McBride/Sims double team press is going to be something to watch though.

Game one Can was used against JA. If Cam is playing in the starting unit will it be to guard the others teams best player or will that be RJ including a PG. Who guards Luka, Ball, and Trade Young.

Be funny if we end up trading for Lebron just 2 years after he said Dolan was why he’s never be a knick

What was the reference about that? I thought Lebron reasoning was our front office was frequently in turmoil? Two years ago fresh off another regime change he would be correct. In fact, Think of lebrons career time line next to the knicks and how many coaches, GM’s, and team presidents there have been.
Leborn had beef with Phil. We have to consider Lebron has also matured over 20 years as well so every thing that happend is not always relevant.

I’d take Lebron as a knick as long as his salary is not massive hit and the talent is diluted. I doubt he can carry a franchise all the way to june as he used to.

He can’t be traded this year and I don’t want that salary eating up cap as it would.

It would be funny!

So - with the minor ascension of Cam and hopefully the return of Grimes, and barring a slew of injuries which is always possible, it would seem the Knicks have multiple players up for limited minutes. I have no conception of what you can get for whom, but possible trade assets would mainly include Cam, Grimes, Obi. IQ maybe depending on what you get back. Don't see Deuce having much value other than as a throw in, same with non-protected picks. I know 98.7% of the population wants to "trade Randle" and although it may be more possible than it was, I just don't see it due mainly to his value on a team heading for the playoffs -- you know, not tanking. And his salary to some extent.

Other question to me is which is more likely to be a trade partner -- a rebuilding team or one in the hunt?

"Trade Randle" rarely had any discussion of what comes back in return. It was seen as a dump, and Obi as the upgrade. Over the summer we get struck in our minds the negative like Randle ALWAYS salty, turning the ball over on every possession and seemingly missing all kinds of shots.

Randle never had to do a 180 to improve. Tweeks to mood and how to deal with the crush of performing. none of us can imagine playing infront of 20k people every night and the endless hours that go into the body and mind.

Kuzma with 25/6 yesterday

I don't like to get on any trade so and so bandwagon, but wouldn't Fournier be kind of what the Lakers could really use? I don't know if there is any actual trade fit beyond that. Or if it would be of any benefit.

I did the math and I really think the Knicks should look to move Fournier and draft picks to the wizards for Kuzma and Delon Wright. It’s not a star, but it fixes our depth and gives Thibs more pieces. Delon Wright might miss a month and a half on the wizards. If they look like crap the wizards might just call the season. Plus Delons and Kuzma’s contracts equal Fournier’s. Combined they would give the roster lower tier contention hopes (aka ATL and Raptors level) and defensive depth at backup PG and Kuzma being better defense and rebounding, and his 3 ball would keep opponents honest.

Brunson/Rose/Wright/McBride
RJ/Grimes/IQ/Archy
Kuzma/Reddish
Randle/Toppin
Mitch/Hart/Simms

It also allows for a potential different look all around with RJ on the bench and just acting as a general floater on the lineup.

Brunson/Rose/Wright/McBride
Grimes/RJ/IQ/Archy
Kuzma/Reddish
Randle/Toppin
Mitch/Hart/Simms

To be fair, the Knicks could really use what the Lakers think they would be getting out of Fournier: elite shooting.

None of those trades could happen until at least mid December.

True!

It’s really pointless for the Knicks to move Fournier unless they replace him with a better player who is also a good shooter. Reddish isn’t consistent enough and grimes is the only other one on the team with the catch and shoot skill set.

If Grimes is the good shooter/better defender. They should look to trade Fournier for additional 2-way talent and additional backup PG depth. For a piece that because of age isn’t likely going to be brought back after this contract moving him for someone younger is a good idea as well.

Hard for me to put too much stock in Fournier's game right now. He played competitively over the summer. Its also true that older vets usually take a few months to get up to NBA speed. Start hitting shots more consistently. Not just RJ.

These variables make it hard to predict what kind of contribution EF will be making around the first trade deadline. Do believe its too soon to write him off this season. The better the ball movement, the better Fournier should play.

Agree that any possible trade shouldnt be a lateral move. For an expiring contract is another matter. Not many big FAs in 23' who arent drama heavy. So it better be a good trade.

If the lateral move allows for good spacing, and some upside… yes. He’s a fourth option if RJ wakes up and might be a bench piece if Grimes plays like we think he can.
